Are a sweet sandwich of two round biscuits (similar to shortbread) with homemade dulce de leche (caramel) in the middle. Traditionally around the sides they have a thin layer of dulce de leche covered in desiccated coconut and on top they are finished off with a generous sprinkling of icing sugar. All the alfajores Dulce Kitchen creates. Are inspired from my early childhood memories, growing up in South America.
