http://musingsofaseawitch.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 25, 2015. Time is on my side. Time was on my side this weekend with two great time piece finds. First, this gawgeous Eastlake influence mantle clock that I found in one of my favorite dealers spaces, My Vintage Heart. At one of my favorite antique shops, Vintage Village. In Snellville, GA. Has a few issues, but then who doesn't, these days. A thrift store find, heavy, cast bronze hump backed whales circling a gorgeous and heavy, end of day like glass globe light. I can never pass by a china t...

musings of a sea witch: March 2015
http://musingsofaseawitch.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 22, 2015. It was a faboosh spring Saturday, lovely temps, sunny sky and "Spring Flings" popped up everywhere among local shops. So I dressed my sweet Gynness in her best millinery finery and we were off to do a little spring flinging. Stopped by one of my favorite haunts and came home with only a small bag of treasure. I usually fill the back of my vehicle when I stop here, but this was one of those trips where there was just not a lot that jumped out at me. Cabbage roses, divided server.

So here is my last post for a few months, I thank all my followers and new visitors for stopping by and I hope you will return, like me, in September. The last two weekends have blessed me with lots of great treasure. Gorgeous pair of heavy, Italianate tables are a nice size, beautifully made and have a drawer. The tops are a bit scratched so am going to paint the tops a chalk paint French blue with a dark wax finish. This ...

musings of a sea witch: Why is it?
http://musingsofaseawitch.blogspot.com/2015/06/why-is-it.html
Saturday, June 6, 2015. Why is it that when you are on the hunt for something, you rarely can find it- and yet, when you are not looking for anything in particular, the most interesting items appear? First stop, Hodge Podge in Monroe,GA. As you enter the shop you are greeted by this marvelous Americana scene. Some great open highway items are favorites with men so consider these for Father Day. I am head over tea kettle with this fantastic repurposing of vintage photo slides. What a great idea. She alway...

musings of a sea witch: February 2015
http://musingsofaseawitch.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 22, 2015. Other than my sister who lives in Florida, just about everyone I know has been dealing with frigid temps, snow, ice storms and even more snow. As I write this post, I am hearing the weather report for Monday call for snow conditions with more school closings. Spent Saturday at the auction and came home with some nifty pieces of treasure. This lovely little Mother of Pearl and lacquer "book" with leather binding is actually an Asian inspired and rare. Nifty group of vintage Radi...

http://musingsofaseawitch.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 29, 2014. It was a gorgeous weekend, perfect for a day of meandering in Monroe, Ga. Wanted to stop by at a few of my favorite shops and see what kind of treasure I could find. First stop was Hodge Podge Art, Antiques and Interiors. Located in a gorgeous old cotton mill. Lots of dealers with diverse merchandise and friendly staff make this a must stopover. Fall decorative elements are everywhere and make the spaces festive. Gorgeous Egyptian carved frame. This almost came home with me.

Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Braselton Antique and Spring Festival. A gorgeous weekend in the south and Saturday was perfect for going to the Braselton Antique and Spring Festival. Brought sweet Gynness with me to help socialize her to be comfortable with crowds and different people. We couldn't ask for a better Saturday with gorgous weather and lots of spaces full of antiques, shabby pieces, upcycles furniture, art and crafts and the food midway. Decorative elements abound with a myriad of choices. Gynnes...

musings of a sea witch: October 2014
http://musingsofaseawitch.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 5, 2014. A gorgeous fall weekend. Temps were cool enough that it called for pants and long sleeved shirts or a jacket but the sky was a rich autumn blue, the wind was moving through the trees shaking leaves gently down to the ground and the air was clear. Perfect to be out and about and at my local auction house, the Atlanta Auction Company. You never know what you will come home with from an auction and although I didn't win a lot of items, I am "over the moon" with my weekend wins.

musings of a sea witch: Pulling a Clampett
http://musingsofaseawitch.blogspot.com/2015/05/pulling-clampett.html
Monday, May 11, 2015. Well the first thing you know, ole Jed's a millionaire.and I was channelling Granny Clampett with an auction win. Wasn't planning on bidding on yet another chair (I have a weak spot for them) but this gorgeous, walnut carved, tufted rocker was a steal. Why is it on the roof of my pilot? Well, I had an amazing step back cupboard in side and the rocker just wouldn't fit. Brilliant iridescent carnival glass condiment server by Indiana Glass from the 1970s. Gorgeous blues and purples.
