The doc is out there: March 2009
http://drirck.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 26, 2009. Doctor doctor doctor; is the doc in? All thought about in the fashion of Catch 22 or Major Major Major. I should be ecstatic, however, my unbridled enthusiasm is severely tempered by the requirement to get up at 6 am and drive 30 miles one way for the appointment; then to have the joy of various bodily fluid samples required on demand. Why is visiting with the medical profession such a stressful and often humiliating occasion? Labels: reflections in a puddle. Life is like that.

Tilted Glass: January 2010
http://tiltedglass.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 18, 2010. Banana Bread for Kids of All Ages. In the past, I've done a variety of banana bread recipes with or without nuts of all kinds. I've made banana muffins, peanut butter banana bread, Amish banana cake and many many banana yogurt smoothies. I adore banana breads both fresh and toasted. Is there anything more delightful than toasted banana bread with cream cheese or butter? And chia seeds I had bought a few months ago on a fit of health after reading about them in a running book....

Tilted Glass: November 2009
http://tiltedglass.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 18, 2009. Eating on the Cheap. Of course, Pollan and other food researchers have discussed the total cost of all that prepared, processed food and fast food- think government subsidies and poor health costs. This weekend we bought bok choy at a Chinese food market- tender, green, sandy-as-could-be bok choy. Price: a ridiculous $2. At a local supermarket the same bok choy would have cost me three times as much. I don't know why- supply/demand volume? In a medium stock pot, melt the but...

Tilted Glass: Off we go, into the wild blue yonder...
http://tiltedglass.blogspot.com/2010/06/off-we-gointo-wild-blue-yonder.html
Friday, June 11, 2010. Off we go, into the wild blue yonder. I love living in our nation's capitol. There's always something going on, something to do, and most of them are FREE! The US Air Force Band plays at the Air Force Memorial every Wednesday and Friday night from June through August. Since Heatherly was working, the girls and I took some chairs, a blanket, some bubbles and camped out under the clear, blue sky on a spectacular night with warm breezes and great music. On the Road to Burma.

Tilted Glass: So much, so little
http://tiltedglass.blogspot.com/2010/07/so-much-so-little.html
Thursday, July 8, 2010. So much, so little. All that we need for the next six weeks is in a closet. Everything else has been wrapped, boxed, padded and lugged down the crazy town home stairs and then packed into crates- most headed for a three-year storage and a few to meet us in Rangoon later. Take them away again, please, before I figure out how to squeeze them into our ridiculous luggage count. Stow and go, I say. Glad you guys had the boat trip before heading to Burma. The doc is out there: August 2010
http://drirck.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 23, 2010. Wow, I cannot belive it has been so long since I blogged. It has indeed been many months, almost eight, since I last blogged. Times have been difficult over the last eight months. Many concerns and prayers for self, family, and friends. So I will provide a quick run down of the news from Burton, TX. April - Great news n that we found our church home, Bethany Christian Church, right next door to us. June - Heatherly and girls came to visit, which was a great high point. Also w...

Sunday, August 23, 2009. Rambling on from the ramble no more one, hopefully. Wow, it seems so long but so fast since I last blogged. We are in the new abode, and loving it. Hopefully the rambling days. Are over, at least for now. We have been getting slowly adjusted to new climate, in two words, hot and humid, it can be sufficiently summed up. Whereas, Sumas, WA was cool and damp. I personally prefer the hot and humid. Our other big adventure is finding a church home. We have been surprised to learn ...
