Food and Ramblings from London. The Year in Review 2006. Having just compiled a list with the Frog on the various culinary experiences of 2006, I’m happy to bring you the first Year in Review for 2006, a rollicking ride through the food and wine of the year. With this in mind, the winner, in my mind, of the 2006 award for most consistent quality and excellence has to go to. The runner-up for 2006 is Pied a Terre. The second runner-up for 2006 is The Capital Restaurant. Also rans for 2006 include:. 8211; ...

erased onto paper: May 2007

Writings on the brain. Tuesday, May 29, 2007. This morning. to my dismay. I found a grey hair in my eyebrow. Luckily, I have enough brown eye shadow to color it in. but, it's only a matter of time. I also have a grey hair in my bangs. I'm too young for this shit. What is it with my hair today? First the pigment goes and spiders start making homes in my head! I think this might be a sign that Armageddon is coming. Monday, May 21, 2007. I can't be responsible for some of the things I type. No no, I cannot.

Food and Ramblings from London. Of Business Lounges and In-Flight Dining. December 10, 2006. I’m back (although not for long). With a new job having started at the beginning of November, I’ve been in and out of Heathrow T3 so many times that I feel that I’ve developed an emotional bond with the gentleman who likes to frisk me at Fast Track security. But lest we get too distracted, how about a quick review of the latest in in-flight dining? Read the rest of this entry ». November 17, 2006. My oh my….

Nobu – Berkeley Street | La Bonne Cuisine
https://labonnecuisine.wordpress.com/2007/04/22/nobu-berkeley-street
Food and Ramblings from London. Nobu – Berkeley Street. First my apologies for not posting for some time. To say that life has been hectic would be an understatement – but more on the world of moving in London, frisking at Heathrow, and mediocre BA breakfast fry-ups in later posts. The menu is what you expect from Nobu, so the yellowfin with jalapeno that is a joy was there. Plus the cherry blossom sake (chilled) which goes down a treat. (Is 500 ml of sake too much for two people? While 250 for two peopl...

L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon – 13 – 15 West Street, London | La Bonne Cuisine

Food and Ramblings from London. L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon – 13 – 15 West Street, London. After a period living in Paris, where Guy Savoy’s little place La Butte Chaillot became our local canteen, it’s fair to say that we’ve always been looking for a replacement. After lunch on a rainy Saturday at Joel Robuchon, I think we may have cracked it. So what makes l’Atelier worthy of local canteen status – particularly after every broadsheet reviewer has panned the place? The frogs legs in tempura (wow! Desert ...

Food and Ramblings from London. In these pages, I share some of my recipes, finds, hints, and criticisms. It’s true, that I eat too much too out too often, and so I’ll also be dishing the dirt on the London restaurant scene. And I’ll throw in some wine for free as well! November 1, 2006 at 7:32 pm. I have been reading your blog for a while and I like it a lot. I really liked your post for Vinoteca, it seems like a nice place! Do you know of TrustedPlaces? March 31, 2010 at 12:10 am. St Alban – Lower Regent Street, London | La Bonne Cuisine

Food and Ramblings from London. St Alban – Lower Regent Street, London. 4 – 12 Lower Regent Street. Tel: 44 20 7499 8558. Well, well, a new place in town, and *yawn* is it ever so boring. Well, it’s squid right? It’s kind of hard to mess up squid. For a main course, it was the risotto primavera. Hmmm. Allow me to sidetrack here for a moment. Do you remember your first “wow, what an amazing risotto” experience? Some commentators have noted that St Alban’s has an excellent wait staff. I’d h...This is a res...

Flying Hell – TAP Portuguese Airlines | La Bonne Cuisine
https://labonnecuisine.wordpress.com/2007/04/22/50
Food and Ramblings from London. Flying Hell – TAP Portuguese Airlines. Although this will doubtless distress one of my loyal readers, if not more, it is official that TAP Portuguese Airlines must be the worst managed airline in Europe. Sure, sure, there are probably those of you who think that JAT Jugoslav airways gives TAP a run for its money, but for consistently bad service, TAP has to come out on top. Ah, but the fun is not over! Not me, thanks. This entry was posted on Sunday, April 22nd, 2007 at 3:...
