After we left Vegas behind, we visited a marvel of engineering, the Hoover Dam, which was built in the 1930s to dam the Colorado River. The scale of the dam is truly staggering. The two sides of the dam are in different states (Nevada and Arizona) – and in winter, different time zones! Due to the US Govt shutdown. 8216;Merica – part four.

The grounds have been open to the public for years, but the house needed a lot of renovation and restoration and has only been open since 2009.
