Maybe it was you. Something like a manifesto. Archive for January, 2011. January 20, 2011. I’m waiting to cross. I’ve been in motion, brisk and zeroed-in, and now I’m resentful of the involuntary halt. Like a good city person, I take the extra step into the street to wait, one pace closer to my goal, eyes intent on the traffic light. This seems like an absurd proposition to me, but I’m conserving effort here, so I thank him, and step off to the side a bit. You’re gone.”. Every person in new york.

The Water Coupe: December 2008
http://thewatercoupe.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Water, culture, and memory. Wednesday, December 24, 2008. On the third night of Hanukkah a photographer gave to me. An awakening to the pleasures of Gin and Tonic. My only experience with Gin was back in art school, when, under the influence of Quadrophenia. Mythology, I tried my hand at Gilbey's. On the rocks. . I swore I could feel brain cells being incinerated with every sip. Tasted like ass, too. Then last night, during the latkes and before the lighting of the candles, my photographer friend Zara.

The Water Coupe: April 2009

Water, culture, and memory. Saturday, April 4, 2009. Fishy go swim swim. Well now, today's Press-Democrat has an interesting story about the "battle" between Sonoma County farmers and coho salmon. 160; Low water levels in the Russian River, coupled with spring frosts threatening crops, created a situation where using the remaining river water to spray crops (the traditional method to save them from freezing) ended up killing off salmon fingerlings stranded in the dried out river. The Water Coupe: February 2009
http://thewatercoupe.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Water, culture, and memory. Thursday, February 12, 2009. My birthday is in October. But it's never too early to shop. 160; Just sayin'. Links to this post. Friday, February 6, 2009. Last Thursday night was the opening of the "Weather Report" show. Two paintings in the show really stood out to me (in that sort of "damn! 160;want to do" way), and it turns out they were both done by the same artist, Kathryn St. Clair. And, it turns out she made up some postcards like I did, announcing the group show(s) she...

Maybe it was you. Something like a manifesto. Archive for February, 2011. February 14, 2011. I squeeze in the middle seat next to a short, round guy with doe eyes and a shaved head. He adjusts a little, but he’s still got half my seat. 8220;I’m sorry,” he says, in the gentlest voice. “I’m getting off at the next stop and I’m really uncomfortable and that’s why I’m still sitting like this all spread out.”. 8220;You can share my seat,” I tell him. 8220;See, it’s beautiful right? The Water Coupe: Here and there.
http://thewatercoupe.blogspot.com/2009/02/here-and-there.html
Water, culture, and memory. Friday, February 6, 2009. Last Thursday night was the opening of the "Weather Report" show. And I got a chance to meet three more artists whose work I really like. For a long time I've been pretty reluctant to try and meet other artists, but now that I'm actually producing a bit more work and showing it, connecting with other people has become a bit less intimidating. Amazing what getting off your ass can do. Later, Tony Spiers. And his wife, Lisa. 160;introduced themselves...

Maybe it was you. Something like a manifesto. December 2, 2010. On the radio, there’s some talk show banter going on. A new study says men who kiss their wives every morning live five years longer than the ones who don’t. The driver says to me, “I’d kiss my wife every morning if she’d let me! 8220;Did she kiss you? She said that was alright. We had breakfast the next couple mornings and then she moved in. Eight years.”. He’s on a roll now, and I’ve no inclination to stop him. He’s t...8220;I grew up over...
