De patiënt wordt benaderd door de eigen behandelend cardioloog/klinisch geneticus voor deelname aan GENCOR. Na uitleg over het GENCOR-project wordt de patiënt gevraagd om deelname. Na schriftelijke toestemming van de patiënt worden identificatiegegevens, individugegevens en gegevens over DNA-diagnostiek ingevoerd in GENCOR. De gegevens worden uit de status van de patiënt verzameld en dienen zo compleet mogelijk ingevuld worden voor elke patiënt zodat het kan dienen als sampling frame voor onderzoek.
