Tuesday morning was so clear, bright, and beautiful we decided that it must be the day to go up Chimney Rock. From the room balcony you can see the River and Chimney Rock. You can barely see the large American Flag on top of the actual Chimney. The tunnel to the elevator. Wow - what a view, and we can still get a little higher. Up the 44 steps...

Yes, we can stop and purchase whatever we need at a handy neighborhood Walmart, but why should we have to buy a replacement item when we already have another one right here that can be tucked into the suitcase? It was only 11 miles off the highway so we detoured, and so glad we did! Campbell's Covered Bridge in South Carolina.

Life, Florida, Postcards, Sewing, Crafts. Vacation Tuesday October 19 – Chimney Rock. Amelia Island Part 1. May 3, 2011. Life, Florida, Postcards, Sewing, Crafts. Vacation 2010 – I’m back! Vacation Tuesday October 19 – Chimney Rock →. Vacation 2010 Monday October 18-NC. November 6, 2010. Sunday night we spent in a hotel just off the interstate in Hendersonville, NC. We have family nearby and it was a good location to start the next day’s activities. Life, Florida, Postcards, Sewing, Crafts. Newer posts →. September 11, 2010. I’m sorry things have been a bit quiet around here, but with Ravelry and Face Book there isn’t much computer time left for my blog. Everything went well and I was assured that I wouldn’t be aware of the procedure. They were right but I did drift towards awareness at one time and advised them, “I believe I am a little more aware than I choose to be” and then went right out again. When I mentioned it to t...AC people out on Thurs ...

I Have Been To The Sock Summit. By Judy @ 4:35 PM. Sometimes, if we are very lucky, we create an object that is so perfect, so. That it can hardly be described with words, but must be. It was waaaaaaaay better than the first sweater that I knit, which I wore once… because mama forced me to. Yeah. That was the sweater that first taught me that cheating at gauge is a lose-lose proposition. But I’m not here to talk about ponchos and sweaters, beloved – or not – as they may be. Recipe post! | Hooks & Needles
https://lopsyli.wordpress.com/2010/02/08/recipe-post
Went to a crazy food party at a friend’s place recently. They had pizza. This pizza was homemade (I helped! So, here is a rough reckoning of the recipe, modified to my taste and kitchen inventory:. Parmesan (optional, imho; I haven’t been using it). Pizza-crust-in-a-can (Walmart has it, it’s near the biscuits-in-cans, and kind of tastes similar). Tomatoes (1.5-2 is plenty, unless you REALLY like tomato). Most reading this probably already know I’m not big on veggies… but this is pretty good! My husband a...

Long time no… something! Picked up my red scarf (not much farther on it), started a new hat. Update on Stitch Markers:. I haven’t forgotten! I just moved into a new place, though, so they’re… well, still in a box. *wince* As soon as I get the boxes unpacked, I’ll send the finished ones and finish making the rest. I’ll send an email before I mail them to make sure that addresses are still correct. Sorry again for these delays 😦. Update on life in general. To be honest, I don’t have much to say. Leave a R...

Hello, World. | Hooks & Needles

I took a break from forums, blogs, and “real-life” hobbies over the break. I spent most of my time playing with code. And playing D&D Online. 8230; But now the semester has (about a week past.) begun, and real life happens. Hello. Knitting… I (finally! Crochet… Haven’t since I got hooked on knitting (pun slightly intended, for the reverse-osity). I am learning to make bread. I had flour, milk, and eggs, and I thought, “Hey, that’s bread, right? But that’s not the important part! So I made yeast rolls!

MMMMMMMashed Potatoes. | Hooks & Needles
https://lopsyli.wordpress.com/2010/03/07/mmmmmmmashed-potatoes
Today I didn’t feel well, and decided that mashed potatoes would fix everything. I WAS RIGHT. NomsyLee went and got some beef for stewing while I made mashed potatoes, so we had beef stew (the kind that’s just beef gravy) and mashed potatoes. For the first time ever, I managed to make mostly unlumpy gravy, but the meat’s not the important part (for once). I actually messed up the mashed potatoes, but they were really good! So here’s what I did. So far so good! 6) Accidentally add too much milk. Mashed po...
