About Gwen and Dale. November 28, 2014. We finally decided to hike on the trail made from Davis Dam to Laughlin. Don Laughlin donated the money needed to put in this 5 mile “walk.” to the dam. The road above the dam is closed to traffic so one can walk across the dam. Walkway across Hwy 95 to Las Vegas. We parked Miss Scarlet above the dam and walked across the dam and down the hill to the park. The path was all pavement so we were disappointed as we like to walk in dirt! About Gwen and Dale. November 29, 2014. We started our day going to the outlet mall. We didn’t get here last year so we had to do it this year for sure. The stores were on the second level and the shops were placed in a circle on the floor. Lot of empty stores too. We found a great sale at Carters for Kids and bought Lucy some winter clothes. Friday, December 26, 2014. Well we have had a couple setbacks. 1) Bill's mom's cancer has returned. We are waiting for results of her PET Scan. Monday at 1:30. Hopefully not devastating news. 2) Granddaughter is getting a CT scan to determine what a mass in her lung is (sitting in waiting room now),. 3) took van to get oil change and checked out the last time before taking off and find that the tires didn't pass tread test so we are having new tires put on Monday am. Monday, November 24, 2014. Update: We are almost there! When Friends Creek Park closed 10/31/2014, we moved to Weldon Springs to wait it out to the day of Bill's retirement. December 19, 2014 is the last day of work for him. We have decided to wait until the day after Christmas to leave. GRANDKIDS! If we have to be here until the 19th what is one more week in Illinois winter! My answer, "ABSOLUTELY NOT"! We can hardly wait! Bring on December 26, 2014. We are headed south! Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Since we picked up our new motorhome in April 2012, we have been on the go as much as possible. We spent 44 nights in the motorhome. Not nearly as many as we would like to have had. We have had some family setbacks this summer; but we pick up family, dust them off and get them back on their feet. Thursday, January 23, 2014. Plan is in action. Is this dream really possible? I read blog after blog trying to make sure we cover everything. Seems odd, I have dreamed about this for years and it is coming true and now my panic sets in. Then I remind myself, life is too short, what is life without an adventure. I'm walking on sunshine. What the hell is this garbage? Shows this completely jacked show called Intervention. Where drug addicts are followed around for a week and then get an intervention on A&E's dime. Most of the time it's kind of sad, but one episode about a young woman named Allison was just completey jacked. Allison was addicted to huffing duster, the airspray used to clean computers. She was also completely delusional and prone to fits. The whole episode is on A&E's website!
