Just another WordPress.com weblog. Laquo; Heart Human. Okay, I’m no athlete. Jigs can attest to that. He compensates. A local trainer I admire recently told a friend he likes Jigs a lot because he is forgiving. The best horse for your friend. I took this as an insult wrapped in a compliment. Too old to . My head is full of can’t, won’t, don’t. But the trainer is right. Jigs is the best horse for me. Yes, Jigs is the best horse for me. Explore posts in the same categories:. Living in the moment. Riding lesson today was interesting. Once warmed up and trotting, with the usual culprits of balance, bend, leg and hands being addressed throughout, the rest of the lesson was on what I call “the bow tie”. Here is my poor, hastily sketched representation of the pattern we rode:. Short side of arena is at top and bottom of the diagram, long side of the arena is the leftmost portion of the drawing where there is a straight line (the rail) ]. Yikes, I’ll be on this for the next ten years! By The Lite Rider.
I jumped! | Hope In All Forms

Hope In All Forms. August 6, 2015. Yesterday’s lesson was so much fun. I am still riding on a high from it. First we go to the outside rink. I love being out there. It feels like a sense of achievement to actually get to be seen by others (we won’t embarrass the stables by being out there and messing up basics horribly). “Hey, look at me! I didn’t really have much intention of learning how to jump and now I do! I looked to “A” and said “That’s it? It looked so much scarier then that.”. I remember feeling...

All posts for the month July, 2015. Sometimes I need mindless crafting. Here is a photo of my start on a lap throw I’m crocheting. Crafting the rows is meditative. I don’t have to worry too much about intricate stitching. I have 60 rows left. I like the simplicity, as many other items I’ve crocheted required more focus and attention. Signing off now to get some chores done prior to riding at 12:30 today. 8211; The Lite Rider. By The Lite Rider. July 23, 2015. Posted by The Lite Rider on July 23, 2015.
Archiving | The Lite Rider
https://thedancingrider.wordpress.com/2015/08/07/archiving
Yesterday I archived several photos. Got them onto thumb drives to preserve them. I came across some skiing photos. These were “fluff shots” taken by a slope-side photographer. These folks only use tame terrain for the general public — for obvious reasons! While the photos didn’t capture our hell-bent-all-out skiing style, they were still fun to see again. Skiing was my favorite sport, with horseback riding now a close second. By The Lite Rider. August 7, 2015. Posted by The Lite Rider on August 7, 2015.

All posts by The Lite Rider. Today We Lost a Special Friend. Today, one of our cats, Tomo (short for Tomodachi, meaning “little friend”) has gone to the Rainbow Bridge. Tomo was one of the litter of four we saved, and took in. He was only four and a half years old. We are so sorry his life had to be so short. But we are grateful, and thankful, we could know him and have him with us. His three litter mates, and our fourth cat, will have to go on without him now. As will we. By The Lite Rider. I'm not a bragger, but I really do own the best mare in the entire world. Stay tuned for ramblings about our somewhat irresponsible and rocky start all the way up to her blossoming into the solid citizen I knew she could be. About the best mare. Other horses who’ve made me. Pearl’s sexy bod. I’m a weirdo, so I like to use a lot of terms that might not make sense to the average bear. Here’s an explanation. Barn O: fall 2008- spring 2012.
