Monday, September 5, 2011. On Thanksgiving Day 2001, my job was to take the turkeys out of the fire. I'd been out reporting most of the day, so when I returned to Jalalabad my contribution to dinner was to monitor four scrawny Afghan turkeys that were baking in Dutch oven. S buried in hot coals behind the Spinghar Hotel. Once I was sure they were fully cooked, I sliced them up for a dining room full of war correspondents who were celebrating with an unhealthy amount of lousy Pakistani liquor.

この前、剪定したスイートマルベリーと巨峰に加え『趣味の園芸７月号』を参考にブラックベリーとブルーベリーも剪定。そこに、近所の子供達が遊びに来てたので「挿し木ってやってみる？」と言うと乗り乗りで全部やってくれました。いや～、助かったよ。感謝感謝。で、完成＼（○＾ω＾○）／. さぁ～、芽が出るかなぁ。枝を２節残して剪定すると書いてあったけど、？？節ってどこ？巨峰をばっさり。すっきり。やってやった。スイートマルベリーは、節の意味が分からないので、ファーマー. は一言。節は、芽のことだと一発解決！だから、枝に芽を２つ残して先を切るんだと。素人の私は、芽からうろこで。切りすぎたかな・・・？まぁ、いっか。万田酵素まいてと、夏が楽しみ。この前、チーフさんが、手作りのうどん生地ブロックを持ってきてくれました。延ばすと、のび～る・のびる. さっそく、いただきま～す。モグモグ、とにかく麺に腰があって、アゴが筋肉痛に・・・。激うま！！たぶん、例のフードプロセッサーで作ったんですよ。きっと。劇的　D・I・Y！！仕方ないので、ネジをドライバーで締めて（汗だく）. 広島市, 広島県, Japan.
