Australian Summer of 2005/06). Is a cross between Golden Dwarf Champion. Regular Leaf) and Orange Russian #117. Regular Leaf, bi-colour, heart shape). There are beautiful colours in the segregates we've grown so far, and potentially there could be heart shapes. Although beautiful, many have lacked flavour and were not continued. At least one line has nevertheless shown promise and is being developed. New Varieties arising out of this cross:. Photo by Patrina Nuske Small. Dwarf Tomato Project 2008 - 2016.

Pacific Northwest Gardener: August 2012

http://pnwgardener.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 28, 2012. A Tale of Two Kimberleys: The Case for Removing Early Fruit. Is it better to buy seedlings with fruit set or smaller plants with only buds or flowers? Is it better to remove fruit and flowers from seedlings that are too small or to plant them as is, thinking they have a head start? And finally, is it better to plant tomatoes as early as possible, or will plants flourish only after the weather really warms up? A closeup of the fruit on the stunted Kimberley. Thus, based on my Kim...

A Day in the Life of an Amateur Gardener: March 2015

http://4theluvofgardening.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

A Day in the Life of an Amateur Gardener. This is a blog about my gardening adventures good and bad, but always fun! Friday, March 27, 2015. Yes, there are tomato varieties that are called Dwarfs! A Dwarf tomato has certain characteristics just like determinate and indeterminate varieties have. Below is a list of the characteristics of a dwarf tomato that I got from the Dwarf Tomato Project's website http:/ www.dwarftomatoproject.net/. Dark and dense crinkly (rugose) foliage, thick central stem. This wee...

Templeton's Mendelania: May 2015

http://templetonsmedelania.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

An informal, occasional blog about vegetable breeding and growing. First of the Jupiter pods. It's now 72 days after sowing, and the first of the little purple pods are forming on the greenhouse plants - the outside plants despite being about half the size, are only a week or so behind. The greenhouse plants are also showing signs of multiple branching beginning. Links to this post. Purple snow pea 'Jupiter' growout. Greenhouse Jupiter, 61 days from sowing. Outside Jupiter, 61 days. Templeton's Mendelania: December 2013

http://templetonsmedelania.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html

An informal, occasional blog about vegetable breeding and growing. Green Mountain Potato Onion Seedling progress. My Green Mountain F1 plants are showing lots of diversity. Some plants are just growing big onions, and aren't showing any sign of dividing or flowering. Others have one or two divisions. Some have divided multiple times. I'm hoping I get some Green Mountain-like big spud onions, but this multiple-bunching characteristic could be useful. Will need to see how it develops over summer. I certain...

Templeton's Mendelania: Potato Onions - a strange seedling

http://templetonsmedelania.blogspot.com/2015/03/potato-onions-strange-seedling.html

An informal, occasional blog about vegetable breeding and growing. Potato Onions - a strange seedling. Spud onions reproduce vegetatively - plant one bulb, it divides, and produces multiple bulbs at the end of the season. They aren't supposed to flower, but Kelly Winterton got them to, and distributed seed. One of my seedlings this year has produced a quite unusual reproductive strategy - it has divided at the base, flowered in its first year and produced seeds, and also produced topsets!
