Sunday, March 8, 2009. New US Protected Area. In the near future Waco Mammoth National Monument will be joining the US National Park Service (NPS). The resources that will be protected include the remains of a Columbian Mammoth. Up to this point the Waco Mammoth Foundation. Has been managing the site on a not-for-profit basis.
