Dyed In The Wool Blue Stocking: April 2012

http://www.dyedinthewoolbluestocking.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

Sunday, April 29, 2012. Finished Object: Radiating Star. Originally uploaded by fudh4x0r. This is the Radiating Star blanket, by Alexis Layton. I used just shy of 4 skeins of Lion Wool-Ease and it's 4 ft across. The edge does curl a bit, so I believe that after it's had a little bath, I shall block it aggressively into an octagon shape. The bind off was a real slog. I did end up using the expanded rows, so if you make this of worsted yarn, be prepared to have both parts. Posted by Mamma Spice. I read nea...

Monday, March 23, 2015. Book 14: When the Marquess Met His Match: An American Heiress in London. By Laura Lee Guhrke. Without being too spoilery, didn't I just read another historical that prominently featured beer brewing? Is that the new thing in historicals? Are hops really that sexy? Pause for light googling* *. A Hellion In Her Bed by Sabrina Jeffries features a rival brewer and brewster! And relatives holding the purse strings over the hero's head. Posted by Mamma Spice. Book 12.5 and 13. This is a...

Dyed In The Wool Blue Stocking: January 2014

http://www.dyedinthewoolbluestocking.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

Sunday, January 26, 2014. Unfortunately, the evil empire of Google no longer allows me to link photos from the evil empire of Yahoo. You'd think they'd form some sort of unholy alliance. A friend of mine had a rough year last year and shortly before Christmas/Solstice she put up a picture of Chouette on facebook and said facetiously “Who wants to knit this for me? 8221; Well, I DO! I knitted this on 2 shorter circulars as I am not a fan of either DPNs or Magic Loop for hats. Since the yarn is a whole...

Simply Walking on this Earth. Musings on life, love, and family. The following is a rant that I’m tired of holding in. Ands since this is my blog, I won’t hold it in any longer. I struggle to understand why this is the thing that gets said about him. Sure, he’s really tall. But he’s funny, he’s cute, he’s smart, he’s sweet. And none of my clever retorts seem to dissuade the “OMG he is SO big. How old is he again? Because my child is nearly the same age and he’s nowhere near as big! No) Is he normal?

Dyed in the Wool: Handmade Crochet hats, baby blankets, afghans, baby booties, scarves, mittens, toys - Handstitched Crochet wool items

A family tradition, handmade with love. What Does Dyed in the Wool Offer? Crocheting has been in my family from as far back as the generations can remember, being handed down from mother to daughter. My mother started teaching me to crochet when I was little, and over the years I've honed my skills, creating consistent stitches and beautiful items. I was thrilled with the hat Chelsea made for my little boy! I wanted a Frankenstein hat for Halloween and she came up with the greatest design. Brilliant!
