Dye House Tereya: Lye from Ash

http://www.dyehousetereya.blogspot.com/2011/04/lye-from-ash.html

Some of the fun I have while I work does not have much to do with dye but a lot of it does. I get many questions about indigo so started there. I heard at one point that bacteria in the ash aids the fermentation process but I have never read that anywhere. I have read that the bacteria in the dye root madder, added to some vats in India, does help. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
