The Kjelshus Update: Snapshots from the hospital
http://kjelshusupdate.blogspot.com/2010/12/snapshots-from-hospital.html
A day in the life of someone from the "house of Kjel". Snapshots from the hospital. It was interesting to see how McKenna and Ella responded to everything. Even before we got to hospital Ella was holding back tears. She was afraid and didn't know what to expect. She was concerned about me and my well being. She is so sweet and compassionate. Sawyer was born at 11:27pm. We were all asleep at about 2am. I wish to goodness that I had a picture of the girls camping out on the floor of our room. Hugs - Nana Z.

http://kjelshusupdate.blogspot.com/2008/05/mom-whats-problem.html
A day in the life of someone from the "house of Kjel". Mom, what's the problem? A couple of days ago, driving in the car, looking at a garage sale with lots of childrens' items. A garage sale. I see toys. Can we go there? Ella, I don't have any money with me. So, go to the bank and they will give you some. Lynda M. said. I wish we had one of those banks in Alabama! May 8, 2008 at 9:30 PM. The Kjelshus Update: Happy Birthday McKenna
http://kjelshusupdate.blogspot.com/2012/01/happy-birthday-mckenna.html
A day in the life of someone from the "house of Kjel". McKenna really wanted a sleepover and I felt the need to "theme" it. So, together we decided on an American Girl slumber party. So we decorated and planned art activities! Maybe you recall what the shopping bags look like? Red with white stars. Not all of the pictures came out. Some sort of battle with the soft blocks. A few poses by the tree. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Our little big boy. View my complete profile. The Things They Say.

The Kjelshus Update: Chemistry for Kids
http://kjelshusupdate.blogspot.com/2008/08/chemistry-for-kids.html
A day in the life of someone from the "house of Kjel". Recently we made some play dough. We randomly and occasionally do this in our home. The girls enjoy playing with it, a lot. Ella could play with it for hours. We have a cookie cutter for every occasion- by the way- our cookie cutters are also play dough toys. Everything in the play dough is edible, though not very tasty! Pick your colors (or utilize the only non-Christmas colors you have). Bring it to a boil. When cool enough, knead it all together.

The Kjelshus Update: It's All Greek to Me!
http://kjelshusupdate.blogspot.com/2008/03/its-all-greek-to-me.html
A day in the life of someone from the "house of Kjel". It's All Greek to Me! Winter Institutes, ever heard of them? There was a brief history of the Greek language discussing the evolution from Linear B to Classical Greek (8th Century BC) to Hellenistic Greek to, finally, Koina Greek. We went over the Greek alphabet and discussed similarities and differences compared with the English alphabet. (I can write my name in Greek! The Greek language has an interesting array of verb tenses and voice: pluperfect,...

The Kjelshus Update: On the Banks of Plum Creek
http://kjelshusupdate.blogspot.com/2010/08/on-banks-of-plum-creek.html
A day in the life of someone from the "house of Kjel". On the Banks of Plum Creek. Recently, the girls and I (and extended family) took a short road trip to Walnut Grove, MN. Why, you ask! To see Plum Creek, of course. Plum Creek is the famed creek that Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote about in her book. On the Banks of Plum Creek. We have been reading through all of her books this summer. The girls really like them! A long time ago! Our miniature road trip was inspired by this. Wading in the creek was probabl...

The Kjelshus Update: Ella goes to preschool
http://kjelshusupdate.blogspot.com/2008/09/ella-goes-to-preschool.html
A day in the life of someone from the "house of Kjel". Ella goes to preschool. Ella has officially started preschool! After lunch, we dressed for school. Ella picked out her outfit and successfully put it on all by her "big girl" self. We filled her backpack with the needed supplies (change of clothes) and set off for a photo shoot by the Maple tree. Ella, are you excited about preschool? Do you think you will like your teachers? What are their names? Ms Shannon and Ms. Deb. Okay, are you ready to go?
