Green Mountain Lines: February 2015
http://greenmountainlines.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 17, 2015. And Snowing. And Snowing. Between a new baby and TONS of snow, we've been pretty radio silent these days. We're getting after it as much as new parents can, and Tristan is still nursing his knee back to health while I am rediscovering my ab muscles with lots of post-natal physical therapy. We're doing great and loving every minute of this new life with this awesome little girl. But I can't wait to see who she becomes. Lots of love to everyone and enjoy all this snow! The Chang...

I ride my bike for many reasons. Hopefully more reasons to come. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Not your average bear. Through Snow, Sleet or Rain?

Green Mountain Lines: May 2014
http://greenmountainlines.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 25, 2014. A Trail to Connect Two Towns. A fall view from the CVT in Groton State Forest. The Cross Vermont Trail connect communities along the Winooski and Wells Rivers, from Burlington to Ryegate. At times sharing the route with roads and at times traveling its own path through forests and fields, this four-season trail allows hikers, bikers, skiers, and commuters to connect coordinates on the map. The CVT entering Groton State Forest. Incorporate the CVT into a loop, like I did today. The t...

Alpine Finishing School | Winter Wonderland
https://mckennapeterson.com/2012/05/16/alpine-finishing-school
What happens when you drop 14 women in glaciated backcountry terrain for seven days? The ideas behind Alpine Finishing School were thought up by Anne Keller. An AMGA and ACMG guide as well as an amazing woman. Anne contacted SheJumps. To see if she could rally a group of women together for a trial run of the “school”. Definitely a success. We spent one week at the Selkirk Lodge. Honing our mountaineering skills while making some of the best turns of the season. First things first, analyze the snow pack.

Bailed to Canada: Whistler | Winter Wonderland
https://mckennapeterson.com/2012/01/31/bailed-to-canada-whistler
Bailed to Canada: Whistler. We heard a storm was about to hit the west coast so we loaded up and headed to Whistler. It was dumping when we arrived… and was still dumping when we left five days later. One of the most hardcore chicks I know, Nadia Samer. Gave us a tour of some great sled/skiing zones. I can blame Dylan for this one). The stoke level was high, smiles were contagious, and we were drenched to the bone. This state of being basically lasted the entire time we were in the Whistler area. I’...

Winter Wonderland | McKenna Peterson | Page 2

My bike is tuned, my hands are calloused and ready to climb, and the plants want to be moved outside. The natural transition into spring is taking place for everything, it seems, except the weather. Alta Resort. Holds strong with a 200″ base and tonight it will snow two feet of powdery goodness on the Wasatch. This is my favorite time of year. Anything can happen. And it does. After a delicious freeride family dinner we decide a nice tour is in order for the following day. Then…. More biking! Our last da...

September | 2011 | Winter Wonderland
https://mckennapeterson.com/2011/09
All posts for the month September, 2011. Another summer of work on the fishing vessel Atlantis. Every fall I question whether or not I can handle another summer, but by the time spring roles around I am craving hard work and another ocean adventure. (I am also quite broke due to a small skiing addiction). I feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to spend my summers on a commercial fishing boat, it is the most amazing occupation I could imagine. Rolling on a bag of jellyfish coated salmon.
