On September 29th 2008 11 students and 5 teachers from Oberthur and Bateman Primary Schools will be heading to Beijing for a two week cultural study tour. We leave Perth on Monday afternoon and arrive in Beijing on Tuesday morning after a lengthy stopover in Singapore. Thoughts about our first Homestay visits.

We went through the Meridien Gate into the Forbidden City and climbed up and viewed Tiananmen Square and The Forbidden City from the balcony. After breakfast in the canteen for the first time (Chinese style) – boiled eggs, cabbage, rice porridge, cake, steamed buns, garlic cucumber etc. – we went by bus into Beijing.
