Tuesday, May 09, 2006. The Port of Fremantle. A view of the Victoria Quay flank of the Inner Harbour at the Port of Fremantle. As you can see, the port is full of activity - from personal boating to the docking of enormous vessels and even the bustle of local wildlife. A few buildings from Perth's CBD, some 19km northeast of Fremantle, can also be seen in the distance. Vantage point: 32 03'21.10" S, 115 44'07.60" E. Posted by Greg at 12:13 AM. Perth, WA, Australia. Monday, September 04, 2006. September 4, 2006 - Well, AFL finals fever has hit the City of Fremantle! The Fremantle Dockers have surged into the finals, winning their last nine games and positioning themselves third on the ladder. So, being a mad Essendon Bombers supporter for more than a decade, I thought since I have now moved to Fremantle, I'd go down to the Fremantle Oval and see what all the fuss was about at the Dockers' last public training day this week. Sunday, June 10, 2007. Also known as Safeway. The building was being built using what is known as 'tilt-up' construction, where apparently the structures are relatively unstable until they are completed. Multiple investigations are, of course, underway and hopefully all this reinforces the thinking that when it comes to infrastructure, there should be no shortcuts. The only way should be the safeway.
