The Big Enough Umbrella: December
http://thebigenoughumbrella.blogspot.com/2014/12/december.html
The Big Enough Umbrella. Monday, December 1, 2014. Yeah that's right, I did it! I wrote 50,000 words in the month of November for the first time since 2008. The novel is not completed, and it's crap, but I wrote it. Now that NaNoWriMo is over I can get back to reading. I had four books out from the library when November came in, so I had to renew them twice so I could keep them to start reading again on December 1. I have two tiny baby tomatoes! December 1, 2014 at 2:50 PM. Look at you blogging again!

The Big Enough Umbrella: January 2013
http://thebigenoughumbrella.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
The Big Enough Umbrella. Thursday, January 24, 2013. When I get up in the mornings and think "Whew it's cold! Because it's 50-something degrees outside, I know better than to complain about it. When the sun comes out, it will be in the 70s, but back in Baltimore it's struggling to reach 20. I think I can handle this. Yesterday after a morning shopping trip at Walmart, I went to open my trunk to put my groceries in, and the key snapped off in the trunk lock. Midnight City" by M83. View my complete profile.

The Big Enough Umbrella: November 2012

The Big Enough Umbrella. Tuesday, November 13, 2012. Mornings With Dog - Spanish Moss. Before I get into my travels with the dog, I have to say that I committed the sin this morning of thinking to myself that I hadn't seen a giant roach in about a week. This thought spiraled out of control and soon I was sure that giant roaches had been eradicated from my home, possibly even from my entire town. Oh happy day! This stuff is everywhere. It especially loves to grow on oak trees. Our jack o'lanterns did not ...

The Big Enough Umbrella: Day Five in New Orleans (daytime)
http://thebigenoughumbrella.blogspot.com/2013/06/day-five-in-new-orleans-daytime.html
The Big Enough Umbrella. Sunday, June 16, 2013. Day Five in New Orleans (daytime). So many pictures, I have to split this post into two. On Wednesday I ventured off to explore the French Quarter on my own. This neighborhood was founded in the early 1700s as part of the French Louisiana colony. Fires in the late 1700s destroyed most of the original buildings and when they were rebuilt they reflected Spanish architecture because by this time Spain owned much of the area. Ceiling of the cathedral. Across th...

The Big Enough Umbrella: November 2014
http://thebigenoughumbrella.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
The Big Enough Umbrella. Sunday, November 23, 2014. First of all, Hi Sarah. I think you are the only person that reads this :). My tomato plant has three little blossoms. The plant is healthy but still seems too small to me to be able to support any tomatoes yet. My cucumber plant also has blossoms, and also seems small. I fertilized them both today to hopefully give them a little boost. Reason #36 that I love Florida: Gardening at the end of November. Me and The General in West Virginia.

The Big Enough Umbrella: June 2013
http://thebigenoughumbrella.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
The Big Enough Umbrella. Wednesday, June 19, 2013. Last Day in New Orleans. I had pretty much worn myself out on Tuesday and Wednesday sightseeing, so on Thursday I stayed in again and worked most of the day. This was the last day of classes and seminars for Tech Ed, so Dan got finished a little early and came back to the hotel and we rested up for the closing party. The Mercedes-Benz Superdome welcomed us, lit up with rotating lights like a giant spaceship. Everyone had to have a picture of it. Here and...

The Big Enough Umbrella: August 2012
http://thebigenoughumbrella.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
The Big Enough Umbrella. Tuesday, August 28, 2012. Today I saw an old lady driving an electric scooter down a sidewalk next to a busy road. She careened along on that thing like it was a Jeep, and at one point she took a corner so fast, I was sure it would tip over and I'd be forced to go provide first aid, but nope. On she bounced, on down the road. Next into my field of vision came two sports cars, one after the other, both convertibles, both driven by old men in Hawaiian print shirts. A week ago this ...

The Big Enough Umbrella: February 2013

The Big Enough Umbrella. Monday, February 11, 2013. Space Flight by Crayon. Mainly I'm posting these for my rocket scientist friend Sarah and to show off my clever six year old. :). Here is Holly's spacecraft, which is LIKE the Space Shuttle. As you can see we are about two minutes into launch, and the solid rocket boosters are separating. The solid rocket boosters are falling back towards the earth. Oh now the SRBs are VERY close to the Earth! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.
