Seattle was a big hub for "stampeders" to head up to the Yukon in search of gold during the Klondike gold rush. So amazing the journey that those men and woman made. Monday, June 11, 2012. Smoky Mountains Day 1. Last night we arrved at the Great Somky Mountains! Ithas been rainy but still beautiful. I am so blessed to be able to be here and enjoy how amazing it is. Today was our first full day here and we started it by relaxing :. After that we went to a local cavern. RYan has his all day wilderness school, Sage decided to take the bus into Seattle for his very first trip by himself and Tony was at work. Our first stop was to pick up lunch and have a picnic by the river. Then on to eat some ice cream -yummm. After that a new river spot to play in Carnation along the Tolt River. For the past year we have been meeting on Wednesday afternoons for our Waldorf Handwork group led by my very talented and wonderful friend Julie. The kids dyed wool, knitted dolls, made felt wall hangings, arm warmers from recycled sweaters, and the final project crocheting granny squares.
