The End of Days…. | Earthmans' Walkabout
https://earthmanswalkabout.wordpress.com/2012/01/21/the-end-of-days
The chronicles of a man from downunder strolling through Southeast Asia. The End of Days…. January 21, 2012. Gili Trawangan isn’t the sort of place to keep to a schedule, and Indonesians aren’t the sort of people that are ever in a rush. Two doors down from Blue Marlin, where I am finishing up my Divemaster Traineeship, there is a nice Indian themed restaurant/resort/cafe of sorts called Pesona with a half decent internet connection and a coffee machine. Sound like bliss, no? It’s frustrating to be...
Gili T as Charged | Earthmans' Walkabout
https://earthmanswalkabout.wordpress.com/2011/12/26/gili-t-as-charged
The chronicles of a man from downunder strolling through Southeast Asia. Gili T as Charged. December 26, 2011. It’s very hard to know exactly what to expect from a destination before you get there, no matter what creation you have made in your head it’s never the same as what you encounter on arrival, most times substantially different. The sun shines most days of the year, even in the rainy season (Nov-March) during which there are monsoonal rain storms which come and go in the space of a few hours.
Seminyak | Earthmans' Walkabout

The chronicles of a man from downunder strolling through Southeast Asia. December 22, 2011. And the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time. I had planned to start my Divemaster traineeship with Blue Marlin diving centre on Gili Trawangan, part of Lombok’s Gili Islands about 2 hours by boat from Bali on the 27. There is, of course, a time and a place for this, but the time is not all the time and the place is not everywhere. Not for me anyway.

https://earthmanswalkabout.wordpress.com/2012/01/30/last-post
The chronicles of a man from downunder strolling through Southeast Asia. Retirement’s Over. Back To Work. January 30, 2012. So the coffers are all but drained so I’m forced to return home to save up some more cash for the next trip. I’ve missed the Australian summer, which is the best part of living in the land down under, so the goal is to find work quick in order to get away before winter lest I be forced to bunker down for a few months. Must look into that. All the same I’m happy to have enjoyed...
Dead Calm | Earthmans' Walkabout
https://earthmanswalkabout.wordpress.com/2012/01/15/dead-calm
The chronicles of a man from downunder strolling through Southeast Asia. January 15, 2012. Indonesia may well be the new frontier for travellers, just isolated enough to have a genuine cultural experience but safe enough to avoid kidnapping by angry rebels. On the subject, Mindanao, the southernmost island of the Philippines, is regarded as off limits for travellers as it is plagued by the dangerous and unpredictable Moro Islamic Liberationist Group, also known as MILF. Thankfully after a while the waves...
