Around town in glen rose, texas. These chairs sat outside a restaurant called the Green Pickle, the name justified by the outstanding fried pickles that come to the table golden brown and steaming, nestled together on a blanket of wax paper in a classic red basket. Their burgers are delicious as well, a tasty testament to the strength of Texas’ bovine love affair. The courthouse building in the center of the square. A patio and rocking chairs overlooking the river at the aptly named Inn on the River.

Unknown at allen’s creek cemetery. Nobody remembers the people these old bones used to be. I found evidence of that fact in the memorial trimmings: where the headstones had gathered wreaths and poems left by others, the placeholders gathered dead leaves and lichen in the lonely spaces between their named companions.
