A road trip from your armchair. Adding a switched fuse block. Nolan N43 Trilogy helmet. Stebel Nautilus Compact Air Horn Install. Stock Harley-Davidson horns have a tendency to stop working. Here’s the instructions on how to replace your stock horn with a Stebel Nautilus air horn. Disconnect the battery negative ground before proceeding. The Stebel Nautilus Compact air horn with the supplied relay and mounting bracket. I didn’t use the mounting bracket. Here’s a link to a typical relay. I then cut the br...

Moto Tux: April 2011

The penguin's motorcycling and Jeep blog. Monday, April 11, 2011. Do you have some of those "wheel locks" on your wheels that have a serrated set of teeth on the outside that a "key" fits over to allow you to remove the wheel? Guess what: Those things are nothing but a waste of time. They certainly won't stop anybody from removing the wheel if they have access to tools. I know, because I just did it. Sheesh, next thing you tell me is that you don't even have a torque wrench! Badtux the Wrenchin' Penguin.

The penguin's motorcycling and Jeep blog. Tuesday, February 9, 2010. What the fuck is the matter with cars? Toyotas that accelerate because they feel like it or won't brake because they don't feel like it. Hondas whose airbags deploy with the force of a stick of dynamite. This shit that just came out where all the Jap cars seem broken is just crazy. But you know what? Badtux the Old-school Penguin. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Moto Tux: July 2011

The penguin's motorcycling and Jeep blog. Saturday, July 16, 2011. Yes, Mr. Sawzall, complete with welding gloves and goggles to protect me hands and eyeballs. You can also see how far that exhaust pipe sticks back beyond that gas tank skid. If I ever backed up over a rock, I'd destroy my entire exhaust system. So I'm going to cut it flush with the gas tank skid with said Sawzall, and. And that's the end of this exhausting (heh) episode of Mod My Jeep. Badtux the Wrenchin' Penguin. Kraut Cup Trial '13.

The crash bars and LEDs are yet to arrive, but here it is without the side cases on. The GPS integrates in to the bike's LINBUS system, so shows maintenance information, fuel use as well as all of the good GPS stuff. It's controlled by a wheel inboard of the left hand grip and is glove friendly. The GPS locks on with the ignition key. Very cool. The clutc...

My 1250 Bandit: May 2014

Site dedicated to the Suzuki GSF1250 Bandit. Follow me on Twitter: @kewwig. Sunday, May 25, 2014. So what modifications do you recommend for a GSF1250 Bandit? The Bandit has been utterly reliable (except for the starter, which I will talk about later), despite being ridden in all weather. At 45,000 km I am still on the original chain and sprockets, which is in no small part due to the fact that I have a Scottoiler fitted. Are the Scottoilers worth it? You can use any of these setups with pipe and filter ...

It's better than the hell plank that is stock, but after an hour or so I still get sore. The gel seat is firmer, but I find the edges attack the inner thighs after a while. Here's the standard gel seat. Much heavier than stock, but a fairly similar shape. Better, but not a lot better. Sargent.com images below.

I thought I'd try a different type of headlight bulb after one of the HID units lost a connector. Many on the forums recommend Philips Xtreme Vision bulbs, so I got some from the UK. They are touted as 100% more light than a standard H7. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Performance and OEM parts for Bandits. LED Lights for Givi Cases. Leesons Motors for OEM parts.
