Monday, May 23, 2005. Many people would ask what is the East River? Where is it located? Well the East River ends at South Seaport and begins at Throgs Neck Bridge. It is basically located between Manhattan,Brooklyn and Queens. Some people think that the East River is a river, but it really isnt its a strait because it dosent have a source an area where water begins to flow in the water. 1)The oyster filter the water(50gal/day). 2)Source of food for people. 3)Oysters are a keystone species-.
