East Tennessee Fly Fishing. Boone Lake on Memorial Day. Well last weekend was Memorial Day weekend. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the men and women that have served this country in the armed forces. Also for all of those that have given the ultimate price for our freedom. My wife's parents live on Boone Lake, so me and Tyler took our fly rods with us for our Memorial Day cookout. We caught a bunch of blue gill and several of these little guys. On and a huge large mouth nailed it!

East Tennessee Fly Fishing. So with that thought process I bought a new Star raft. Well it wasn't that bad. I actually thought I did pretty well. Except for the one time we went down the rapids backwards! By the last two or three rapids I had really gotten the hang of the ores. We went down nice and straight without any problems. The best part about floating down the river is the fact that you can drop anchor and get out anytime you want and do some wade fishing. It was an absolute blast.
