My post-mba adventures…. Baby’s First If Statement. Asymp; 4 Comments. This week I learned a few things about Excel. Now, coming from someone who was convinced Bill Gates invented Excel (what? You think that’s funny? Why would I think anyone else could have possibly invented Excel? While numbers have to stand resolutely next to those harsh – = signs. IF($I$54-$J$54),0,( G50*($G$54 $H$47) /$C$52,$K$46*($J$48-I47). Isn’t that just so. In any case, a fellow Section B classmate mentioned after a rowdy Thursd...

https://mbacookie.wordpress.com/2011/04/28/pageant-chest-sandbags-and-prissy
My post-mba adventures…. Pageant chest, sandbags and prissy. Asymp; 4 Comments. Finicky, dainty, particular, fussy, discriminating, persnickety. It’s the home of CrossFit Charlottesville. The way to think about this is having pageant chest . If you were in a pageant, or a parade queen on a float, how would your posture be? That’s what they want. Now, when the trainer wants to remind me that my form is lacking, all he has to say is PAGEANT CHEST and I clue right in to what I’m supposed to be doing. That k...

Almost at the end of my second month here, and I’ve had a few recent adventuresi promise a better blog update next post, but for now, here’s a quick recap:. My fellow brand associates (first year MBA class at work) and I joined the MBA interns for a wine tasting tour (who knew Missouri had wine? In a rented stretch Hummer limo. Nothing says wine connosieur like a white, 18-passenger, monstrously long SUV limousine with neon upholstery, right? And this week...

My post-mba adventures…. The Most Important Things I Did At Darden. Asymp; 2 Comments. Last night the outgoing and incoming Darden Student Association (DSA) teams had dinner with Dean Bruner. He thanked us, and we each received a framed copy of the photo below, which perfectly captures our playful spirit as a group (i’m the lady sitting on the left). It made me think what’s the most important thing I’ve done at Darden? Looking back over the 65 (! Work through Princess Problems. 4 Landed a job I’m thrille...

My post-mba adventures…. Big Hat, hedonism and finesse…. Asymp; 2 Comments. I bet you’re wondering what Q4 is like, academically speaking. Yes, I’m still going to classes and yes, I still study. No more Learning Team, though. (Sad not to see my teammates, delighted to have my evenings luxuriously free). We now have 2 required courses, Leading Organizations and Ethics, and 3 electives. So, I’m taking an elective called Interpersonal Communications. What? So what do all these dashed-off one-liners mean?

Right Coast Stories: Minneapolis: more than I hoped for...
http://rightcoaststories.blogspot.com/2011/01/minneapolis-more-than-i-hoped-for.html
Story of my life since moving from SF to Boston. Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Minneapolis: more than I hoped for. And the light rail. That gets me from the airport all the way downtown in less than an hour from my flight landing- all of it is awesome! Nevermind the fact that, light rail tickets are like $2. And the skyways, don't get me started! And that this is an actual phenomena. I later learned it wasn't, but I have to admire their positive outlook, even when it's 14 below. Follow me on Twitter.

Right Coast Stories: December 2009
http://rightcoaststories.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Story of my life since moving from SF to Boston. Tuesday, December 22, 2009. Just wanted to wish everyone a happy holiday. I am looking forward to 5 days out of the office, spending some quality time in Maine with family. This year has been full of change followed by happiness. No year passes without milestones sad and happy ones: The passing of an Uncle- a truly amazing man, the celebration of my grandfathers 90th, the celebration of my 30th, weddings and births for good friends. We all need a little gu...

Story of my life since moving from SF to Boston. Monday, October 4, 2010. A Great Boss is a Hard Find. She not only put us together but trusted us to do the right thing. And because we are all highly driven individuals who didn't want to disappoint our boss, we did the right thing. We made mistakes, but when we did we were given room to figure out what we did and figure out a way to make sure it never happened again. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Follow me on Twitter. Right Coast Stories: March 2010
http://rightcoaststories.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Story of my life since moving from SF to Boston. Thursday, March 18, 2010. The most beautiful thing. This morning, as I was walking to my car, I saw the beginning of daffodils. just the leaves out of the ground, but between that and the warm weather, it is probably one of the most beautiful things I have seen in a while. I am excited to see the city as it comes to life this spring, including the beginning of street cleaning! Thursday, March 4, 2010. I Thought We Were Supposed to Support our Neighbors.
