Dining out in North America: November 2014
http://eatamerican.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Dining out in North America. Just one man's opinion. Friday, November 14, 2014. Enoteca Umberto on Federal Hill. There are lots of Italian-themed restaurants on Atwell's Avenue but Enoteca Umberto is the only one that can claim to be authentic and regional. Husband-wife team Lia and Umberto make you feel as if you're sitting in their dining room, just off the kitchen, and you've just dropped over for dinner after the evening passagiata. Dining out in North America: August 2014

Dining out in North America. Just one man's opinion. Wednesday, August 20, 2014. Susie and I went here recently for dinner and had a wonderful meal. The staff was friendly, the menu innovative and interesting, the food scrumptious and the wine list exceptional. In fact, I'd argue it's one of the best lists we've seen in Providence: a whole page of half bottles alone makes this place unique. The wines were well-chosen and reasonably priced. Oh, and the valet parking was free. Posted by Steve Soper.
Dining out in North America: Food in Grand Rapids, Michigan -- this is gonna surprise you!

Dining out in North America. Just one man's opinion. Monday, May 25, 2015. Food in Grand Rapids, Michigan - this is gonna surprise you! The variety, quality and sheer volume of food available in Grand Rapids is nothing short of amazing - pastries so far have yet to be explored and we'll get to that later this summer. But otherwise, breakfast, lunch and dinner is available in so many places and of such high quality that it makes the move from Providence all that much easier. Morels in puff pastry.
Dining out in North America: June 2015
http://eatamerican.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Dining out in North America. Just one man's opinion. Saturday, June 13, 2015. Batavia, New York, Brantford, Ontario, Providence and Warren, Rhode Island. OK, so on a recent pair of trips out to New England from the Midwest and back I can safely say:. 1 Batavia, New York: Skip the Applebees; it's way too loud with watered-down drinks, mediocre food and sketchy service. 2 Providence, RI: Nami's on Atwell's Avenue is still a great place for terrific Chinese food. Posted by Steve Soper. Sunday, June 7, 2015.
Dining out in North America: January 2014

Dining out in North America. Just one man's opinion. Sunday, January 5, 2014. Loie Fuller's in Providence. My wife and I have been to Loie Fuller's restaurant a number of times over the years. Living close by on the west side it's been a source for drinks at the bar, an occasional dinner and one less-than-stellar brunch (some years ago, now). Well, we returned recently for dinner and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Place in the city you'll find Gateau Basque and it was just a delectable as each main course&...

Packing for a 2-week Trip with the Timbuk2 Aviator. May 25, 2014. When we booked a 2-week trip to Germany, I needed to replace my broken old backpack. Timbuk2’s Aviator backpack. The smaller, non-wheeled version) caught my eye. I liked how the front fully unzipped so you could pack with full access, just like a suitcase. I also liked the subtle design and black color; it’s more of a city bag than something you’d take on a camping trip. 2 pairs of leggings (1 black, 1 gray print). 1 pair running shorts.

Mexican Cocoa Nib Cookies. July 11, 2015. We made the excellent decision of ordering five pounds of bulk cocoa nibs from Urban Greens. I’m going to a friend’s birthday cookout today, and since he’s a creative cook, I thought some cocoa nib cookies were in order. With thousands of positive reviews into this more unusual combination. Recipe: Mexican Cocoa Nib Cookies. Double chocolate spiced cookies with cocoa nibs and pecans. Makes about 20 cookies. 1 stick butter, softened. 3/4 cups white sugar. Bake for...

Category Archives: small bites. January 15, 2015. Over 5 years after our honeymoon in Hawaii, I’m recreating one of my favorite discoveries of the trip: Spam Musubi. We picked some up in a convenience store near the volcanoes and it was an unexpectedly good breakfast. It was also the first time I’d ever eaten Spam. Though we had plenty of fresh fruit, raw fish, and other delights, this portable snack stuck in my mind. Makes 10. Adapted from several recipes. 2 cups uncooked sushi rice. 1/2 cup rice vinegar.

All posts by Stephanie. May 25, 2016. After trying a delicious (but expensive) smoothie at the gym a few months ago, I was inspired to start making them at home. Now they’re part of my breakfast routine at least twice a week. My basic recipe below will make two servings, or about four cups. If you have large 2-cup mason jars, it’s easy to take these on the go. Wild Blueberry Chocolate Smoothie. Here’s my typical smoothie base:. 2 cups of almond milk. A handful of greens or about 1/2 cup of frozen spinach.
