Thursday, June 19, 2014. Gluten-Free in Charleston, SC. Charleston smells like two things: flowers and pork. The floral scent can be explained by the ubiquitous night blooming jasmine, an incredibly fragrant flower, even by day. Took a heads up from a southern gentleman to realize that this small white flower was responsible for the powerful perfume:. Charleston's only 100% gluten-free bakery. This wonderful spot was in walking distance of our hotel, so I made my way over at least once a day. Upscale sus...

Next I made a thick hairline braid and and the swept the rest back into a messy bun. My hair is too short to do much beyond this but if it were longer I would have pulled the rest back into a lovely chignon. I hope you will give it a try the next time you need to fancify your updo! That adorable heart pin is compliments of the lovely r-ki-tekt.

Yes this is cheesy and touristy, but was such a fun introduction ...

All of the best the South has to offer . . . Saturday, March 26, 2011. On the same day we visited the Glass Onion for lunch, we headed to FIG for dinner. I didn't know it before, but the chefs at Glass Onion worked at FIG before setting out on their own. I ordered the chicken liver pate as an appetizer. This stuff is amazing! The beef tartare appetizer was also excellent. Others ordered a stone crab claw appetizer. Local stone crab claws served with a sriracha mayo dipping sauce. Both were good but unnec...
