The Traveling Hungryboy: Enbu Japanese Grill Izakaya at Suntec

http://eatbma.blogspot.com/2015/07/enbu-japanese-grill-izakaya-at-suntec.html

Monday, July 20, 2015. Enbu Japanese Grill Izakaya at Suntec. When we were at Suntec this past weekend. I noticed something called Eat at Seven up at some new Sky Garden thing, but immediately dismissed it, thinking that it was just some lame food court. It was only after I looked it up last night did I realize that it was a collection of seven Japanese restaurants run by the ANA folks. Among other partners. And the first one, Enbu, has opened already (3 Temasek Boulevard #03-307, 6268-8043). Awesome Inc...

The Traveling Hungryboy: The Teochew Cultural and Food Festival

http://eatbma.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-teochew-cultural-and-food-festival.html

Sunday, August 02, 2015. The Teochew Cultural and Food Festival. Has been running this weekend, this time at the Chui Huay Lim Club (190 Keng Lee Road). The highlight of the food by far was that oyster omelette above, which was much crispier than the one from yesterday. And also came with a stanky chili sauce plus some vinegary thing that just made me happy as a clam. Or an oyster, I guess? I then moved on to other stalls, including one doing two kinds of kway teow. Or even some creature's penis.

The Traveling Hungryboy: Cauliflower Fritti from Jaime's Italian Singapore

http://eatbma.blogspot.com/2015/08/cauliflower-fritti-from-jaimes-italian.html

Thursday, August 06, 2015. Cauliflower Fritti from Jaime's Italian Singapore. Opened a second outlet at Forum the Shopping Mall this week (583 Orchard Road #01-04, 6655-7676), so we grabbed a quick bite since we were nearby. Everything looked very pretty, but there really wasn't anything special about what we ordered today, nor did it justify the high prices either. This made me feel:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Traveling Hungryboy: Uncle Leong Seafood, Ang Mo Kio

http://eatbma.blogspot.com/2006/02/uncle-leong-seafood-ang-mo-kio.html

Wednesday, February 22, 2006. Uncle Leong Seafood, Ang Mo Kio. This place (233 Ang Mo Kio Ave 3 Street 22 #01-1194, 6554-3453) is apparently run by the brother of the more well-known Mellben Seafood on the other side of the parking lot. It's been a while since I've eaten there, so I don't remember that place too much, but tonight's meal was pretty good. Of course we went through the usual Singaporean seafood delights, like cereal prawns. Chili crab, and pepper crab. We also got the crab. If there were an...

The Traveling Hungryboy: Paradise Pavilion at Marina Bay Financial Centre

http://eatbma.blogspot.com/2015/05/paradise-pavilion-at-marina-bay.html

Thursday, May 21, 2015. Paradise Pavilion at Marina Bay Financial Centre. This has always been one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Singapore (8A Marina Boulevard #02-01, 6509-9308). Sure, it's a bit fancy and pricey, but the quality of the food is top-notch, including everything from the lo baak gou. Above to the Peking Duck. The latter of which is roasted in a fragrant apple wood oven that greets you when you enter the place. The liu sha bao. This made me feel:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Under the coconut tree: September 2007

http://pokokkelapa.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html

Under the coconut tree. Thursday, September 13, 2007. To market, to market. Hong Kong is definitely a mecca for those who enjoy shopping. It has something for everyone whether it be highly expensive branded goods in huge departmental shops, small boutiques or bargain road side markets. It never fails to amaze me that the shopping outlets are always jam packed with people all day (and night) long! I guess the locals not only work hard but they shop like crazy too! The photos below are taken from Stanley m...

Greedy, but discerning: November 2005

http://eatthewalk.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html

Greedy, but discerning. A wise woman once said "I am not a glutton, but an explorer of food". We just like to eat really, and good food ought to be shared :) Most of our epicurean wanderings are within Singapore, but we'll make it clear when we do go further afield. Tuesday, November 29. Wisma Atria Food Court - Hokkien mee. Wisma Atria, Level 4. We, as true-blue foodies, had to pick the stall with the longest line the. S doubled boiled with fish rather than the usual pork ribs. The taste was not com...

My Belly Dictates: October 2007

http://bellydictates.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html

Following the growls of my ever-hungry belly in Southern England. Monday, 8 October 2007. We went to Coco Rio on a gamble. Having walked past it once - it is in a back block behind the main stretch of shops on Bedford place, and in what seems to be a carpark - and noted its "African/Latino" tag, we thought it was a restaurant worth trying. And it certainly is. For starters, we all shared some grilled haloumi on a spicy pineapple salsa, which reminded me greatly of a favourite Vietnamese dish, char-grille...

Under the coconut tree: January 2008

http://pokokkelapa.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html

Under the coconut tree. Friday, January 04, 2008. On our recent trip to China, we were heavily contemplating between a trip to Guilin or to a nearby town, Yangshuo. After much reading and research over the internet, we decided to opt for the later. It's apparently a smaller town, less hectic and touristy. I definitely needed that after living smacked in the hustling and bustling of HK for so many months. We stayed in this quaint little hotel, Yangshuo Riverside Retreat. Sugar cane plantations in abundance.

Tuesday, October 26, 2010. Word of the Day : GEEK. The Best Friend was relief teaching at our Alma Marter and we got into reminiscing about our high school days. The conversation went something like:. Me : I was such a geek back then. Her : No la, you were so not a geek. I had the thick glasses and bad hair! Her : Er isn't geek someone who never does her work? Me: Oh. in that case.yeah. No to the first part but yes to the second, so I guess I'm half-a-geek. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Traveling Hungryboy

Sunday, March 25, 2018. Marugame Udon and Tempura at ION Orchard, Singapore. Another assembly line-style udon and tempura chain from Japan has opened in Singapore (2 Orchard Turn #B4-67, 6732-0687). But it wasn't as good as Tamoya. Everything from the noodles to the broth to the condiments fell a tad short, even if it ultimately was all still edible. To be fair, there were quite a few varieties on the menu that I didn't try, but I'm not getting my hopes up about them. This made me feel:. Xin Long Xing Ch...
