Palehound – Molly | Honey&Bile
https://honeyandbile.wordpress.com/2015/08/14/palehound-molly
I listened to this today. Songs of the month. About Honey and Bile. August 14, 2015. Palehound – Molly. As a genre, Indie rock is getting on a bit now, but this sounds fresh… Gorgeously scratchy guitars buzz across a combination of low key bass and clockwork drums. The multi-tracked vocals maybe mixed at lofi levels, but the chorus is all pop. This entry was posted in I listened to this today. Benedict Benjamin – Had What You Had. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Mattie Ginsberg – Pieces! | Honey&Bile

I listened to this today. Songs of the month. About Honey and Bile. February 10, 2014. Mattie Ginsberg – Pieces! By the time the fabulous rolling harmonies sweep in towards the end of the song, I’m already sold. A louche vocal sleazes its way across a bed of blips, beats and squeaks while Radiohead-esque electric piano guides the melody to a satisfying conclusion. Thanks to Fresh On the Net. Foals – What Went Down | Honey&Bile
https://honeyandbile.wordpress.com/2015/07/30/foals-what-went-down
I listened to this today. Songs of the month. About Honey and Bile. July 30, 2015. Foals – What Went Down. Can’t imagine there will be a more thrilling, visceral, stomping, adrenaline spike of a song released this year – once it starts I have to listen to the very end. Yes I know I’m the last person in the UK to have discovered it. Thanks to 6 Music. This entry was posted in I listened to this today. Scaramanga Six – The Terrifying Dream. Jon Gomm – Gloria. The Sound Between: June 2011
http://soundbetween.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 16, 2011. We dance and grow on through our darkest days. There are so many great South African bands. On the scene lately it's hard to line them all up and pick out the best like this is fourth grade gym class. So, instead I offer you just a random little smorgasbord (fancy word alert) of nice local tunes. Enjoy and then go find more! Here's a funky Cape Town band, which already makes them cool, of course. (I'm only half kidding;). That makes me want a banjo even more. Lover of all things ...

The Sound Between: December 2010
http://soundbetween.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 1, 2010. Everyone has time of hibernation and unfortunately this blog needed one early on its little life. Now that my life has hit a sweet pocket of laziness (also called summer holidays), it's time to revive The Sound and see what it can do, ey? It's no secret that I have a soft spot for smooth vocals matched with beautiful instruments, especially when they come from good-looking men with style. The two artists that have been keeping my ears company lately fit the bill perfectly.

The Sound Between: March 2011
http://soundbetween.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 14, 2011. A new bee in my bonnet. We all know the feeling of real, deep rock. It's not even in your ears, it's in the gut. It seeps from the speakers into the floor and creeps up you until you're headbanging with your eyes closed, forgetting anything else exists. It's this raw, wrenching feeling that will grip you with every beat of She Keeps Bees. To see what I'm talking about. Also, check out the great clip of them at the bottom of this post. Introducing: Morly | The Blue Walrus
http://thebluewalrus.com/2015/08/11/introducing-morly
August 11, 2015 •. On her debut release, Minnesota multi-instrumentalist Morly. Has managed to produced some of the most wonderfully fragile and melancholic soundscapes that fragile and beautiful soundscapes I’ve heard in a long, long time. Seraphese, the second track on the EP, first emerged online last year and is as beautiful as it is simplistic, with little more than a piano and an urgent tick of percussion for much of its three and a half minutes, but that is all it needs. I listened to this today. Songs of the month. About Honey and Bile. December 31, 2015. Songs of the Year – No. 1. Criminally neglected album in my view – there didn’t seem to be anywhere near the love shown to it as it deserved. Definitely my most listened to track of the year and the rest of the songs on the album weren’t far behind. A future classic anyway. Jim O’Rourke – Friends with Benefits. December 30, 2015.
