We’ve recently become hooked on a newer Chinese restaurant in our area. It’s called Asian Kitchen and is in the Giant Eagle shopping center at the corner of Steltzer and McCutcheon. This past weekend, we went on a college visit to Kettering University. They had a really nice reception for parents and dinner was outstanding. One of the things they served was short ribs. Just to warn you these are GIANT cookies and they spread a lot. This picture is from Marthas site, but mine looked exactly like them. 2 cups all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled. 1 teaspoon baking powder. 1/4 teaspoon baking soda. 8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature. 1 1/2 cups sugar, plus more for sprinkling. 1/4 cup sour cream.

But I’d go there again. We had good sized dinner entrees for around $28, we don’t order beverages because I’m too cheap to pay $2.00 for iced tea so that bill is just for the food. Many of the menu items are made from scratch and/or to orderso everything you get is fresh and tasty. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Yummy Coconut Almond Macaroons. On December 20, 2010 by meashline. It’s time for Christmas cookies and I love baking. I’ve never made macaroons before, but my husband loves coconut, so I thought I’d give it a shot. He especially likes Almond Joy candy bars, so I decided to put a little twist on the standard macaroon recipe. Golden, brown and delicious! 1/2 tsp almond extract – get the good stuff, not that imitation garbage. I like Penzey’s the best. A pinch of salt.
