Dining in Dixie: August 2009

http://eatinginstgeorge.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

A food tour of St. George 'Dixie', UT, as described by two aspiring food critics, Susi and Karyn. One Stop Shopping at the Blvd! Boulevard Home Furnishings has it all! From high definition flat screen tv's, to sofa recliners, to statues and even a water fountain, this store also boasts its own diner! How was that for a commercial? I, of course, had a hamburger and opted for onion rings instead of french fries. And boy, was it a hamburger! All in all, one of the best well-kept secrets of St. George!

Dining in Dixie: Paradise Buffet

http://eatinginstgeorge.blogspot.com/2008/08/paradise-buffet.html

A food tour of St. George 'Dixie', UT, as described by two aspiring food critics, Susi and Karyn. Karyn had never eaten in Mesquite; I thought this was a travesty! At buffets, it's always my rule to bypass the salad bar. Seriously, why pay money to eat greens? Go for the good stuff! That's like four bucks. Meanwhile, the smoked fishes and other pricey items are around the corner." It's the same with the Paradise Buffet. Go for the pricey items, aka the seafood and steak! I even made my own cone! I tried ...

Dining in Dixie: Panda Garden

http://eatinginstgeorge.blogspot.com/2008/09/panda-garden.html

A food tour of St. George 'Dixie', UT, as described by two aspiring food critics, Susi and Karyn. So Karyn refuses to write the review first, citing that she would have to go in and fix mine…I admit, I am a blogger virgin. It’s been a while since our last review; don’t worry, we have eaten since then! But since I’ve had to write first, the reviews have piled up. But have no fear, they will be just as awesome (with a couple of tangents thrown in)! However, the women at that lunch were HILARIOUS (if not co...

Dining in Dixie: July 2008

http://eatinginstgeorge.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

A food tour of St. George 'Dixie', UT, as described by two aspiring food critics, Susi and Karyn. Benja Thai and Sushi. I had a roommate, Madoka from Japan, that couldn't pronounce my name. (It's pronounced sue-see). So, I told her it was just like Sushi, but without the 'h.' Let's just say, she never got it.:). My post comes several days after our excursion to Benja's. Sorry Karyn. It sounds like an Asian Enya. Benja Thai and Sushi. I feel like someone knew that I was coming to St. George, so th...The s...

Riddle Me This: May 2009

http://susibell.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

Thursday, May 7, 2009. I've been listening to a lot of NPR (National Public Radio) in the mornings as I go to work and when I go home. It's not a new concept for me; I actually quite enjoy it. The past week, I've learned heaps. Did you know that the big influenza epidemic of 1918 was actually called the Spanish Flu? And this flu pandemic spread to nearly every part of the world? I wanted to learn more about about the Pullman Porters, so I went to NPR. I found all sorts of fun stuff! 4 Old Man and the Sea,.

Riddle Me This: Segway--Still Moving?

http://susibell.blogspot.com/2009/08/segway-still-moving.html

Thursday, August 6, 2009. Remember the revolutionary machine "The Segway"? Oh, what a delight and tragedy that piece of technology was. I saw one today for the first time in years; hence, prompting my blog. I was in a professional office in St. George and sitting there by the door was none other than a segway. Who knew these things were still around? I must admit, they are phenomenal! Cruising around at 20 miles per hour was rather fun! Will be to the car what the car was to the horse and buggy. 13 Thoma...

Riddle Me This: September 2010

http://susibell.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Tuesday, September 28, 2010. The Irony of It All. Yes, it's been over a year since my last post. And you may be asking yourself, "What would prompt Susi to post after a nearly 13 month sabbatical? The answer: the owner of the Segway machines passed away. A brief moment of silence before I tell you how. He died on a Segway. Now a brief moment for laughter. :). Yes, overall, Jimi's death is quite tragic- on all accounts. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. You thought you knew.

Riddle Me This: March 2009

http://susibell.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 30, 2009. I love random facts. Did you know that the human body, when dead, loses 21 grams? But did you know that March was National Noodle Month? I know, right? How awesome is that? I want to know who decided that noodles needed their own special month. But since it's almost the end of the month, please pay homage to the shells, spaghetti, penne, farfale (bowties), and all the other pastas of the world with these amazing facts! In the U.S.,. What would we use collanders for? When I met you.

Tuesday, October 19, 2010. Jumping on the Bandwagon. This picture was taken at a homecoming parade here in town. Yes, I understand that you are taking a stand for the LGBT community in Southern Utah and at Dixie State College. Riddle Me This: November 2010

http://susibell.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Friday, November 19, 2010. The Path to Self-Discovery. Is long and winding! I've made some recent changes in my life that will hopefully continue to keep me in happiness and a zen-like state. :) I quit my job two weeks ago and have been unemployed, but have an encouraging prospect for a path that may lead me down that proverbial yellow-brick road. Know that since the decision, I have been happier and definitely less-stressed! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. You thought you knew.

Riddle Me This: Apostrophe War

http://susibell.blogspot.com/2009/04/apostrophe-war.html

Thursday, April 9, 2009. I am a fanatic about punctuation. What? Did no one listen when their sixth grade language arts teacher was teaching about punctuation? It will change your whole view of punctuation and grammar. The following is the author's (Lynne Truss) take on apostrophe:. I pass by a place called "Dianas Dinners" frequently. Makes me cringe each time, and add them to my list of businesses I will not frequent based on their signs. :). April 12, 2009 at 11:50 AM. April 13, 2009 at 10:36 AM.
