amanda meets martha: developing a wrap-up session & a good read
http://amandacooksmartha.blogspot.com/2007/10/developing-wrap-up-session-good-read.html
Learning to cook with local ingredients. Saturday, October 27, 2007. Developing a wrap-up session and a good read. To everyone who has asked, I am still here and still intending to continue with this project. I am still gathering the main points I want to wrap-up the month's experiment with and I will report back soon. So much of technology has robbed us of life-giving sources. You are a real pioneer (in a kind of ironic sense). October 27, 2007 at 4:31 PM. October 28, 2007 at 2:14 PM. Map Your 100 Miles.

Learning to cook with local ingredients. Wednesday, October 31, 2007. What i've been doing, what i've learned and how i'll move forward. When I began eating locally, I still had a kitchen stocked with non-local foods: Annie's mac&cheese, brown rice, lentils, dried beans, couscous, canned pumpkin, sugar, all-purpose flour and chocol. Ate Now that my. Chip muffins with cream cheese frosting for his birthday. I used the left-over batter for bread and it tastes delightful. I think. Before eating locally I us...

amanda meets martha: polling the nations
http://amandacooksmartha.blogspot.com/2007/11/polling-nations.html
Learning to cook with local ingredients. Wednesday, November 21, 2007. It's time to start anew (after Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday, of course). Any votes for which cookbook I should explore next? How about the versatile "Joy of Cooking"? November 21, 2007 at 12:03 PM. I bought "Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker Cookbook" for someone and he loves it. If you've got a crockpot, my vote goes for this cookbook. It'd leave you a lot of time not doing intense cooking. :). amanda meets martha: day 27: eating locally on special diets, a farmers' market breakfast, and another farmers' market

Learning to cook with local ingredients. Saturday, October 20, 2007. Day 27: eating locally on special diets, a farmers' market breakfast, and another farmers' market. Okay - well expect a bigger wrap-up post in a few days. But I don't see this project as ending at all. So it won't be the last post, by any means. Yes, one of the great things that local eating does is to make me so much more aware of seasons. Just seeing a sign that says, "Last salad greens" makes them seem even more delicious. Dane Count...

amanda meets martha: November 2007
http://amandacooksmartha.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Learning to cook with local ingredients. Monday, November 26, 2007. Thankful: indoor market, paoli local foods and a new cookbook to explore. I am thankful for: morning after Thanksgiving baking - pumpkin oat muffins. They turned out perfectly. The indoor farmers' market on Saturday had what you might expect: squash, potatoes, bread and flour. But it also had the unexpected: spinach (lots of it), mushrooms, and tomatoes. There were so many people, which was great to see. Wednesday, November 21, 2007.

Learning to cook with local ingredients. Thursday, November 15, 2007. Current fave food read. When I actually find the time, I sit in my rocking chair and read a good book with some coffee or hot cocoa. Right now I am really enjoying The. United States of Arugula. Which details the culinary history of American food. I highly recommend it. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. 100 Mile Diet (Canada). Web resources for products and ideas. amanda meets martha: September 2007
http://amandacooksmartha.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
Learning to cook with local ingredients. Sunday, September 30, 2007. Day six: market lessons, brunch confessions, and local pasta potluck! The farmers' market necessitated two trips yesterday. Going early in the morning is am. Azing because you can find the rare things, like celery and no-sugar added (hence, 100% local) applesauce! I was so excited about the celery that I think the farmer thought I was c. Razy I was still on an oat-finding mission, so I asked Tom. To Bluephie's. They use local eggs, ...
