124; Comments RSS. 1st YEAR OF COLLEGE. 1st Year University Student Lesson Learned #2. Posted on July 25, 2010. My son has a very good friend who enrolled in UC-Santa Cruz two years ago. He’s incredibly smart, and in an incredibly hard science major. During the spring semester that just ended, he took two courses very high on the intensity level. The boy made a D in both classes, which made his GPA plunge to under 3.0. Bottom line? Filed under: 1st YEAR OF COLLEGE. 124; Leave a comment. My son learned so...

124; Comments RSS. 1st YEAR OF COLLEGE. Posted on February 27, 2010. My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Chile. Also with the people of Japan and Argentina, who both had large earthquakes today. Also with all people in the path of a tsunami. I lived through the Northridge Earthquake here in California back in 1994. That baby was only a 6.7, but it was scary. I cannot imagine an 8.8. God bless all those who are suffering. 124; Leave a comment. The Bee’s Knees Slang and a Cocktail. Yes, they do.

124; Comments RSS. 1st YEAR OF COLLEGE. Happy Father’s Day Tribute to Fathers and Husbands & Men. Posted on June 20, 2010. Happy Father’s Day to all you Dads out there. The important roles men play in our society have been under siege for longer than I want to remember. I cringe every time I see a commercial on TV that shows the man as being inept while showing his wife as being the one with a brain. Now, on to my own father. Speaking of which: My Father passed away in 2003. My Husband passed away in...
