December booklist + end of the year statistics - Joie de vivre

https://eattheolives.livejournal.com/938394.html

I thank you God for most this amazing day. December booklist end of the year statistics. Jan 1st, 2015 at 6:09 PM. 1 The Art of Asking, Amanda Palmer. Amanda has made a career built on asking for help and yet found herself unable to accept freely offered help from her husband. Yes, shes the complete opposite of the kind of person Id normally choose to hang out with, but after this book I felt so much respect and yes, love, for her. This book is raw, real, and inspiring. 4 As You Wish, Cary Elwes. Probabl...

April booklist - Joie de vivre

https://eattheolives.livejournal.com/960662.html

I thank you God for most this amazing day. Apr 30th, 2015 at 8:54 PM. 1 5 Spices, 50 Dishes, Ruta Kahate. Cookbooks totally count if you read them cover to cover, which I did. This ones excellent. 2 Edge of Eternity, Isaac Asimov. I like Asimov generally, but this one had me mostly going. huh? Caveat: was listening while painting a ceiling, so I might have missed crucial plot points. 3 How the Heather Looks, Joan Badger. 4 Honeymoon Hotel, Hester Browne. 5 Blacksad, Juan Diaz Canales and Juanjo Guarnido.

About the walking speeds in various cities around the world and how, surprisingly, New Yorkers werent the fastest walkers:. Loyalists might argue that the real speed of New Yorkers resides in the nuances. On the London Tube. Aug 20th, 2014 at 12:48 PM. I thank you God for most this amazing day. Mar 6th, 2016 at 7:54 PM. Well, this is going to be a quick list. 1 Exploring English Castles, Dr. Edd Morris. A coffee table book that takes a selection of castles and shares their history and architectural details. However, the design of the book seemed a bit amateurish, and since all the photos were from Shutterstock and not taken specifically for the book, they often didnt illustrate the text well. 2 Spark Joy, Marie Kondo. 3 The New Deal, Jonathan Case.

I love to read. Haven't had much time for it lately - well, actually have been reading a lot lately, mostly out loud, including The Cat in the Hat. And those repeatedly. As for adult reading, the list has been limited, but some good ones in there. Before going on to that, a tip of the hat to Garrison Keiller, who will no longer be broadcasting A Prairie Home Companion. Now (drum roll please), my little list:. Erik Larson's Dead Wake. David O. Stewart's Madison's Gift. Courtesy of my being a nerd). My chi...

Have just restarted the download; at least it seems to be restarting just from where it kicked out before, but I really have better things to do with my time than nursemaid this nonsense. McGill sent me an email, which for more information on the subject, and a link to click. Which brought up a page on which I had to select a tab, whose only info was a link to click, which brought up a document with links. After six clicks, got to a broken link. The Internet of things-to-be-hacked. Apparently Im to be co...

They just came. Back story: while browsing books (such a wonderful thing to do), I found two that were favorites when I was younger, and ordered them to read to Hedgefund and Wallstreet. They are too young now, but I an almost drooling with anticipation getting to introduce them to these two wonderful books:. Madeleine L'engle's A Wrinkle in Time. Norton Juster's The Phantom Tollbooth. 12th-Aug-2015 02:42 pm (UTC). I adore both of those books. Hooray for passing them on to the next generation!

The Victorious Hermit - Kierkegaard. Don't think the price is fair? Make me an offer! Know someone who might want something? The entry is public. :-). 22nd-Jun-2010 09:12 pm (UTC). If I were a size smaller I'd take them all off your hands! Lol Actually I really like the first one and I bet it would fit me, but I don't think I'll make you go to the trouble for just that one. 22nd-Jun-2010 10:50 pm (UTC). May 17th, 2007 at 4:26 PM. This afternoon I went down the hill to our lovely pond to read a little of this book. But look who arrived on the scene! We met this family of Canada geese the day after we moved in. The six goslings have grown so much in two weeks. Naturally I had to set aside my book for a photo shoot. Here are three babies following mom up the hill on a quest for yummy bugs. Mom and dad confer with each other as to the best route. While the babies pose for the camera. Dad says it's time to go.

Favorite Art Friday! - Drawing in Sanguine

http://katharhino.livejournal.com/345284.html

Sketches, gestures, doodles. Art, like morality, consists of drawing the line somewhere. If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world. Books that you may carry to the fire and hold readily in your hand, are the most useful after all. There is nothing worse than a sharp image of a fuzzy concept. Is it totally idealized? Crossposted from http:/ katharhino.dreamwidth.org/385521.h. Draw me a picture. I don't kno...

Worth a careful read. Nov 20th, 2007 at 10:43 PM. This is an important article for everyone, but especially for musicians. Hopefully more research is underway. Music as Torture/Music as Weapon. The very idea that music could be an instrument of torture confronts us with a novel and disturbing perspective on contemporary musicality in the United States. What is it that we in the United States might know about ourselves by contemplating this perspective? 11 comments Leave a comment. Re: God Bless America.

Religious experiences in the computer lab?! - Library Grrrls

http://library-grrls.livejournal.com/859737.html

Thu, Jun. 13th, 2013, 08:12 pm. Religious experiences in the computer lab? Okay, so I've actually had this happen a few times, and I'm caught flat-footed every. damn. time. I'm seriously uncomfortable, but they're not being really loud, just kind of weird and unnerving? What the fuck do I do? I don't deal well with religiosity and the like, it generally leaves me confused and like I want to run away. I don't want to tell them not to do that here, because infringement on rights and all that. They're eithe...

EAT THE NORTH

Northern Food Fan and Blogger. This is lunch at Harland Place, Norton. Fish Cake. That outer shell’s wonderfully crisp and slicing through that perfectly poached egg made everything come together super nice. Came with a side of American style fries for £7.95. ETN RATING : 4.5/5. HARLAND PLACE : @12 harlandplace 01642 801212. Sep 02, 2016. Absolutely massive cheese scone from Whites Cafe, Middlesbrough. It was £1.15 and I’m full for the day. The Perfect Scone. Job done. Things were going really well, then I did pirate stuff, wrote a curriculum, and stressed out about everything, and now Im ten books behind. But I did read a few things:. 1 Your Call Is Important To Us, Laura Penny.
