Welcome to the Eau Claire Historic Preservation Foundation (ECHPF). The Historic Preservation Foundation was originally founded in a direct response to the proposed demolition of the Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis and Omaha Railroad Depot located at 324 Putnam Street, just to the north of Wisconsin Street in Eau Claire. Forgotten and left to sit vacant, the bid to save and restore the building was unsuccessful and the depot was destroyed in 1987. Unfortunately, its mark on Eau Claire can never be replaced.
