A little insight into my trip in the Dominican Republic. Monday, August 17, 2009. Its not a journey until you don't know where you are going. Oh- I don't even know where to begin as it has been quite a while since I've written! So on Friday we went to a campo (small village) in the mountains called Blanco al Medio. Here is a picture the campo from the main road through there. Things we did in the campo:. 1 Had a free clinic in which we treated 24 people. 2 Went to several different houses to treat people.

A little insight into my trip in the Dominican Republic. Wednesday, August 26, 2009. I realized today that I've forgotten to fill you in on a key component of Dominican culture. Most of the hospitalizations, deaths, or accidents in this country are from moto (motorcycle) accidents. These motorcycles (regularly sized) hold up to three grown men. A little insight into my trip in the Dominican Republic. Thursday, August 13, 2009. An interesting gua gua ride. So- to preface this post, I must tell you that today was my favorite day so far! To begin the adventures of July 13, 2009 I have to tell you about the most interesting gua gua ride I have taken thus far on the trip. I believe I mentioned already that one time we had 25 people in a gua gua. Well, we did manage this again today! Today however, there were 17 of our own group members on the gua gua.

A little crazy now and then but overall, everything is good. Another day is done in the DR. We are officially half way done with our trip - 9 days done, 9 to go.
