Notes on the bars (taverns) of Eau Claire (WI). Griese’s 400 Club. This is one of several “downtown” Altoona bars. It has a classic interior which has been cleaned up. The bartender did not know how to make the favored drink, but took direction well. I loved that there was a group of ladies sitting playing a card game in the late afternoon. Notes on the bars (taverns) of Eau Claire (WI). The end is here. I have not been in EC since election day. It was my last visit to move my furniture to storage, and pack up my valuables to move on. I am living in a new state, in a new region, and have a whole new life. It was a great run while it lasted, but it is over. I just checked the stats. I will leave this blog up as long as there are at least 50 hits per month. Once traffic drops below that, I will delete this effort. Feed You can leave a response.

Notes on the bars (taverns) of Eau Claire (WI). It has been a year since I left Eau Claire. I expected the visits to this blog to tail off, and they have. However, there are still almost 100 views per month, so I guess it stays for a while longer. There is a chance that I will show back up for a final visit sometime in the next six months. Notes on the bars (taverns) of Eau Claire (WI). Shutting down….for real. July 22, 2014. For the past 15 months, this blog has received an average of 0 hits per day. Zero. In 2010, two years after I stopped reviewing, the blog received over 1,000 hits. Last year (2013), it was 155. This year, there has been only one month so far when the hit count made double digits (10 hits in April). I will archive the material at the end of August. It will then be available only via sources like the Internet Archive.
