ECECAF in the Community. ECECAF is administered by a Board of Trustees comprised of one representative from each of the nine participating unions and associations. Two separate trust agreements signed by participating unions and associations and registered with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) govern the fund. The positions of the trustees are volunteer and selected by their representing union/association. The Board consists of:. Brenda Waluk, Chair – City of Edmonton Management Association (CEMA).

ECECAF in the Community. Members’ contributions have benefited many registered charity and benevolent organizations. The ECECAF Board of Trustees allocates funds in accordance with established criteria and guidelines. Organizations must be Registered Charities and eligibility is determined by financial position, alternate funding sources and value to the community. Funds may not be used towards salaries or operational costs. Financial assistance is awarded annually. Alberta Council of Women’s Shelter.

ECECAF in the Community. Celebrating 75 years in 2016! In April 1941, the Civic Employees’ Welfare Chest Fund came into existence in Edmonton. Supported by a group of six civic unions and associations, the Fund was formed for three main purposes to cover the period until the end of WWII. To contribute to the comfort of military patients in Edmonton hospitals. To provide assistance to soldiers and their families during WWII. And cures of disease. Employees’ Charitable Assistance Fund (ECECAF).

ECECAF in the Community. Members and their families may be eligible for special medical aid. Medical services or equipment for a severe medical condition can sometimes impose a financial burden or hardship on our members’ families. ECECAF plays a supportive role in providing financial assistance where the need has been demonstrated and is not covered by any other plan or service.
