Certification in Basic and Advanced Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography is offered through the National Board of Echocardiography. Certification is intended for non-diagnostic monitoring within the customary practice of anesthesiology. It is not sufficient for making diagnoses that require cardiac surgical intervention.
