How am I not myself? TIFF recap films 55-69. Sep 21st, 2010 at 4:03 PM. This is what I did the 11 days of the Toronto International FIlm Festival. The tally: 15 films. 9 foreign/subtitled, 2 documentaries. 4 Midnight Madness (2 at midnight). To recap, here are the films in order of my overall experience. I"m not a film critic and I know people may argue Black Swan. Should be at the top. My reason is I was fully immersed in Poetry. And The Last Circus. So while Black Swan. I Saw The Devil. Never Let Me Go.

How am I not myself? Apr 30th, 2010 at 12:13 PM. I've been pretty busy with derby the past few weeks/months. I can't remember if I've seen any films since Hurt Locker. I only remember one. Again Still a lot of fun, and the audience wasn't too bad. I saw it with about 6 friends so that helped. And we all clapped when they showed the gang going to a movie at the Scotiabank theatre, the same theatre we were in. Yay! Started yesterday. How am I not myself? Feb 27th, 2010. I usually like films with a bunch of different story lines like Pulp Fiction. But I wasn't really interested enough in these characters. Watching this after the documentary on Thursday made me really sad to see how different things could have been with RFK instead of Nixon in office. In any case, I still like Men At Work. 17 The Blind Side. Basically what I expected but not over-the-top cheesy. Sandra Bullock is pretty awesome. One and only genuine original family band.

Luckily it was a slow summer for films anyway. So last weekend, the inaugural season of the Toronto Roller Derby. League came to a conclusion, with the first Championship match. The Gore-Gore Rollergirls. And The Chicks Ahoy! The two undefeated teams from the summer season - went at it on November 17 up at Rinx. The match opened appearing. By a final score of 89 to 53. Led by their amazing jammers, including Bambi.
