I'm hoping it turns out the right size as it will be a gift and I'm not absolutely sure about the doll size. Nice that the pieces work up quickly. The jacket is finished. I'm working on the dress and there will also be a hat. Click on the images for close-ups. Stitching a lace collar. Have a great weekend. A croch...

I talked about Tambour Stitching last time. I have been practicing every day for almost two weeks and I think I've finally mastered the chain stitch. It's the only stitch needed in tambour stitching but not one that's easy to master with the tambour hook. The chain stitch on netting using the tambour hook. And yes, I have made some prog...

More will be revealed soon. Meanwhile, my wonderful tea towel collection has expanded:. On the left a bold plaid by Susan Harvey. And on the right are 2 variations on a pattern by Jean Betts. mostly threads: December 2014

http://mostlythreads.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Wednesday, December 24, 2014. Another event was the coming down of a famous tree on my skyline. A lovely pine that died. I won't show you the entire sequence.it was very methodical and there was a lot of grinding up of branches.it took two days. I think the tree had a good life, and better it be taken down than allowed to fall down, but I miss it. We've had LOTS of rain! One early morning we went for a walk and decided not to go very far due to the great windiness that assailed us at the corner:. I wish ...

Design concept. © Catherine V. Bainbridge 2013. One of the things that I have always loved about hand-worked repeat patterns, is the way in which the natural irregularities - the imperfections - make a repeat pattern not a repeat pattern anymore. Even though it still is. And I think that's the quality that appeals so much to me in so many world cloth/stitch traditions. Design concept. © Catherine V. Bainbridge 2013. Adventures with Thread: pumpkins, lemons, lemonade

http://adventureswiththread.blogspot.com/2012/09/pumpkins-lemons-lemonade.html

Following the thread, seeing where it leads me. Saturday, September 15, 2012. Pumpkins, lemons, lemonade. I don't want to be a blogger who only posts projects that come out as planned. I believe that pobody is nerfect. So I'm showing these adjacent quilt blocks. Notice anything.er.strange? My intent was to stipple. The pumpkins so that after washing they would 'poof' up. I guess it's a case of not seeing the forest for the trees when I began stitching. Saturday, September 15, 2012. Exercise machine ....

[re]emergence: Rice Moon

http://iy-am.blogspot.com/2013/01/rice-moon.html

Tuesday night the tide was low at 6 o'clock. Flashlights in hand, we stumbled out across the rocks. There were lobsters. Brittle starfish. And we saw the head of an eel poking out from a crevice under a rock, opening and closing its mouth, with small, needle-sharp teeth. I got a creepy feeling. Of wading in the warm waters in the dark. We went back to the shore and sat for an hour, sky-gazing. A fabulous comet - or suchlike - flashed across the heavens, with a streaming orange tail. I will soon be 42.

Jewelry and Creative Inspiration. For those who follow the creative voice deep within their soul and look for inspiration at every turn. My passion is working in metal, but at times I love the fluidity of water and paint as an escape from the fire and metal. Can you be a master of both? Thursday, June 24, 2010. Jewlery as Art vs. Craft. Is a skill, especially involving practical arts. It may refer to a trade or particular art. Folk art follows craft traditions, in contrast to fine art or "high art".

Eclectic Mayhem: Ben Darnell's blog

Thursday, July 09, 2009. My mental model of how manufacturing works is basically the Sesame Street video of a crayon factory. It's especially cool that the sausage-aligning robot (at 0:30) doesn't need to line things up parallel to the conveyor because the next robot is also capable of picking up the whole set at different angles. How does the father and mother differ as parents

2012 - 11.09. How does the father and mother differ as parents. It is true that father and mothers have differences in raising their children. This can be beneficial but can also be confusing to the children as they might be confused. Mothers tend to show more care and empathy as they take care and raise their children while fathers are inclined to be less showy on their feelings but more on specific actions. Mothers are more compassionate compared to the fathers. Fathers teach their children survival an...

It has been 12 wonderful weeks of embellishing a storybook of our choice. My choice was THE BEDSPREAD by Sylvia Fair. I did run my fingers over some of the areas embellished in the video to distinguish from what was already on the page.
