Oh! The Things You'll Know...: August 2011
http://eclecticlearners.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
The Things You'll Know. Teaching Our Boys, One Duty Station At a Time. Tuesday, August 9, 2011. Formal dining room for a not-so-formal-family = school room! We just happen to have a space to contain our mess, but that doesn't doesn't mean everything happens in here! The corner holds most of our supplies (for now), the wires to hold art work are just made of. Picture hanging wire, wrapped around screws. Table taken from the eat-in kitchen area, lights from IKEA, hanging pocket organizers from. Behind the ...

The Things You'll Know. Teaching Our Boys, One Duty Station At a Time. Thursday, April 5, 2012. For the past few days Turner has been asking to get out some craft items. That is SO completely rare that I jumped on his request for a bunny craft today. I chose this little mask so he could practice cutting. Turner loves to be extra careful! Very happy he cut out the eyes all by himself! Eli (the usual crafter! Decided he wanted to chop his bunny to bits and return to bouncing in "the bouncy house.". I'm in ...
Oh! The Things You'll Know...: March 2012

The Things You'll Know. Teaching Our Boys, One Duty Station At a Time. Monday, March 12, 2012. This morning Deacon was up at 5am which felt like 4am because just a day ago, it was! Today just happened to be the day I really needed to go to the grocery store, too. Thankfully, the older boys cooperated in the procurement of the groceries. I may or may not have bribed them with gum. It got me thinking though: am I really prepared to homeschool during a deployment? I've been simplifying life so I can focus o...
Oh! The Things You'll Know...: First Week Post Christmas

The Things You'll Know. Teaching Our Boys, One Duty Station At a Time. Saturday, January 7, 2012. First Week Post Christmas. Schooling through the holiday season proved more difficult a task than I had expected! Not that the kids need much "formal" school. I really couldn't make the time to blog about the things we did from November through December because I was too busy crafting! This year I think my deadline for making gifts is the first of November. After that, NO crafting! Eli is always so dirty!
Oh! The Things You'll Know...: Lots of Life Happens!

The Things You'll Know. Teaching Our Boys, One Duty Station At a Time. Tuesday, August 26, 2014. Lots of Life Happens! I'm not really sure why I took such a long break from posting here, but I did. And a whole lot of life happened: like deployments, moving, and a few new family members! There has been too much school to catch you up on, but most (all four of you) know what we've been up to at any rate. I'll start updating from here and keep you updated as best I can! OH! The Places We'll Go...: September 2011
http://ourlittlenavylife.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 26, 2011. 1 Apparently, google images in the Netherlands put up a picture from my blog. Blogger has a new interface and it shows all sorts of stats when you log in. My "audience" and blog hits spiked. Intrigued, I had to look. It's me.and my boob.nursing Deacon. I thought of taking it down, but, it'd probably still remain up on their images, right? I don't know wether to be weirded out or not. Is going well these days! Links to this post. Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Oh, yeah, reality.

A Sky Show, and some Homemade Apple Pie. Momma's homemade Apple Pie coming up. As much as I missed the ocean this weekend Apple Pie, no crowds or freeways, family, and a lot of family history was an amazing change of pace. When Malia looked at me and said "it's not 4th of July without Apple Pie" I knew exactly what she was saying, and I agreed! American Girl peeling apples. Big Beer, Little Lady, Greatful Dead tunes and lots of good times. Grandma still rules his world! Ribs, It's what's for dinner.

The Things You'll Know. Teaching Our Boys, One Duty Station At a Time. Monday, October 13, 2014. Tonight I made tortilla soup. I love Mexican food, especially cilantro. To make this soup you need:. Olive oil for the soup pot. A few cloves of garlic. 2 cans of rinsed beans (I used black beans and pinto beans). About 2 cups of frozen corn. 2 chopped up pre-cooked chicken breasts. 1 1/2 boxes of chicken stock. 2 cans diced tomatoes. Large spoonful of tomato paste. 2 limes (plus more for garnish). We started...
