Strastrugi Fest 2014 Elk Mountains. We travelled to Tagart Hut a couple weeks ago, just outside Aspen, in the Elk Mountains! Our friend made this fun video to document our memories. Hint: Strastrugi = that wavy, hard, wind swept snow that looks like a frozen lake surface. The area had not gotten new snow in a long time, but we had a great time touring around exploring the area about 12,000′ and even managed to find some nice, soft turns. February 10, 2014.
