Wednesday, 28 May 2014. Bathroom external wall rendered. Rain chain and more finished walls. Having a renderer that has been able to give some full time attention to the house has led to significant progress being made over the last few weeks. The internal walls are finished and there are only three external walls, three upper walls and a small section around the front door to go. Freshly rendered back wall. Front of house freshly rendered. The hemp lime rendering. Hemp render on MgO Board. I had forgott...

In the Dreamtime…. While working on a discussion of spirituality and healthy psychology, I found myself drawing lots of circle diagrams as illustrations. Over and over, explanations of personal boundaries, the self, relationships, the cycle of life, egalitarian resourced based economy and humans’ place in the world-wide ecosystem included a little sketch of a circle or circles. Then an accident of teh interwebs led to a couple of pages of Native American quotes. This refers back to one of the primary poi...

In the Dreamtime…. 3D printed bones →. SBS recently ran a Dateline episode about prescription drug. Addiction in the US. They’ve done a couple of these recently. It was something of a surprise that the normally progressive station would copy something out of Murdoch’s play book like that. I guess those rumours of cuts have had their intended effect. It’s a brilliant pictorial presentation of the research into addiction. Addiction as a folk devil had to be invented. The US has the highest rate of prescrip...

In the Dreamtime…. Witch, bitch, creatrix; hippie, dreamer, gardener. Lover of books, music, rescue animals, piss and vinegar. Medical applications for 3D printing continue to surprise. In China a few months ago, 62 year old Ms Lu was diagnosed with a form of bone tumour. Until recently it would have been incurable and very painful. Using a 3D … Continue reading →. In the Dreamtime…. Warning: This content may be emotionally triggering. Put simply, trauma is what happens when you’re overwhelmed by a violent or threatening situation. There’s wiki links to PTSD. Another thing we’ve learned from those poor bastard guinea-pigs who fought in Vietnam (on both sides! Consider this: If someone who has training and experience to counsel a person, who has the professional support of other doctors, can be traumatised by listening to the stories of a trauma victim, how much mor...

In the Dreamtime…. Updated. Some of the “self help” titles can stay, but most of these are about understanding the problems with contemporary western society and how we go about developing a more sustainable, egalitarian future. These are some of the books I’ve read and recommend for those trying to understand life and find ways to make the changes they need. As with all of this, don’t take my word for it, make up your own mind. Take what you need and leave what you don’t. In the realm of hungry ghosts.

In the Dreamtime…. Okay So we’ve talked a little bit about personal boundaries and how they might affect our lives. Previously I was describing the life of someone with poor personal boundaries as feeling a little like a smash up derby. In the first picture the person hasn’t really drawn a line between themselves and others. The needs and responsibilities of themselves and others can become confused and they might not know when or how to say no. They may know how to say “I” and “no̶...It is, however,...

Non-Woven Polypropylene (PP) Shopping Bags | NZBAGIT
http://www.nzbagit.co.nz/greenestbag.html
Who Has the Greenest Bag. Raquo; Greenest Bag. Who has the greenest bag? NZBagit’s key focus is nonwoven polypropylene (pp) bags. Nonwoven pp bags deliver a very high quality finish, they are very printable, and they are very cost-effective, though obviously not as cheap as traditional single use plastic shopping bags. The point being of course, they are made to be reused many times over. If they’re plastic, how come they’re green? Best Use of Resources. What about how it is made? Single use bags are the...
