My answer for the last question contains an error — for some reason, I set the elasticity equal to -3 instead of -2. Here are the correct calculations for the first part:. Begin{eqnarray} frac{-5P}{220-5P}&=&-2 P&=&440/15=29.3 Q&=&220-440/3=73.3 end{eqnarray}. And here's how to get the elasticities in parts (b) and (c):. Powered by Wikidot.com. We went over WB11#3 at the beginning of class and did the quiz at the end. I neglected to write that P. 1 for the problem on the back, but wrote it on the board. A student pointed out an error in the answer key: the work for 2a should indicate that MRS. 5/4 I simplified the fraction 10/2*4 wrong. Powered by Wikidot.com. Oligopoly - Econ 302

Market power and market concentration. Perloff 13.4-5; WB 19, 20. We examine behavior in an oligopoly — a market with a small number of firms — and compare the equilibrium price markups and welfare to the market structures we studied earlier, perfect competition. We study two models, called Cournot and Stackelberg, in which firms choose how much to produce. In the latter, one firm “moves” first. We will use game theory. To solve these models. Find the equilibrium quantities produced by each firm, q.

Dr Greenlaws ECON 300. Introduction to Economic Analysis, Spring 2015. For Students with Disabilities. May 2, 2015. ECON300 with professor Greenlaw is one of the best classes I ever been taken. Being free to choose the topic about any economic issue and researching about it interesting. Plus as an Economist I learned a lot from this class and improved my knowledge especially about writing a research paper in an economic way. Thank you Professor Greenlaw for this great class. Tips for people next year?
