http://berlintalksoneconomics.blogspot.com/2011/02/social-immobility-in-britain.html
Berlin talks on Economics. Friday, February 18, 2011. Social (Im)mobility in Britain. Not before you settle down in England, do you realise the significance of social mobility: the struggle of many and the privilege of few. Two BBC documentaries investigate the issue of social mobility from two slightly different angles:. Who was briefly shown in the documentary claimed that children from higher social classes are more intelligent and more able and there is “a social mobility myth”. Amazing blog and very...

I’ll second his call for a daily word quota, but express horror at his notion that you should ever devote a morning to 8-10 jobs that ought to take 5 minutes each. Here are my suggestions:. 1 There is always time to do more, most people, even the productive, have a day that is at least forty percent slack. 3 Some tasks (drawing up outlines? 5 Blogging builds up good work habits; the deadline is always now. Random Policy: New Toy

Energy Policy and Other Stuff. Friday, January 9, 2015. One of the things on my list of long-term projects is a DIY book scanner. There are a ridiculous number of paper books in my house, and I'm getting old enough to think about downsizing the living quarters at some point. Lots of people have done impressive things in the field, like this one. It's a UNIX system. I know this! After fooling around for a bit, I copied part of my collection of cartogram software. Stupid, random, self-serving and bias. Monday, February 21, 2011. During the Three Kingdoms period of Chinese history, Zhuge Liang (or Kung Ming) was a chancellor of Shu Han. He is often recognized as the greatest and most accomplished strategist of his era. But when the legend travels around seventeen hundred years later, Zhuge Liang will reborn as a Malaysian who is studying economics and serve as the most capable treasurer in PEKUMA, perhaps in the whole campus of University of Malaya. And frankly spe...

Perfectly Competitive: 2014 Election Predictions
http://perfectlycompetitive.blogspot.com/2014/11/2014-election-predictions.html
Tuesday, November 4, 2014. Quickly, my completely unscientific predictions for the election today:. Senate: 9 for the Republicans (MT, WV, SD, AR, AK, LA, CO, IA, NC and holding all of their open seats). House: 11 for the Republicans (NC 7, UT 4, NY 21, AZ 1 and 2, IL 10 and 12, FL 26, WV 3, NH 1, MN 8, IA 1 while only losing CA 31). Governor: -2 for the Republicans (losing PA, KS, ME and AK, gaining AR and MA) The Dems would only gain a net of 1 seat since Alaska would go to an Independent.

Perfectly Competitive: January 2013

Tuesday, January 8, 2013. Overall a pretty dull bowl-season has just concluded. The highlight for me was Oregon's one-point safety in the Fiesta Bowl. I will remember that one for years, which is actually more than I can say for some past seasons. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). International Journal of Sport Finance. Thursday, December 5, 2013. The NFL Trying to Take Every Last Surplus from the Super Bowl. I think this story.
