This shows a lack of understanding when it comes to 1/3, appears as though she thinks that 1/3 is 1 part add 3 parts. she shows 1/4 instead of 1/3. November 3, 2008 at 5:31 PM. Jessica demonstrates that she understands that fractions must be divided into equal parts, however she also indicates that she might not have a complete understanding of what an equal part is, as in a number of her drawings she has divided them up into three parts, however they are of varying sizes. Taylor demonstrates that she has a thorough understanding of what 1/3 is as she can demonstrate that she understands that fractions are division based and that the fraction parts must be "even groups". October 25, 2008 at 11:15 PM. I think the next step for taylor would be looking at fractions of a collection.
