Ed and Deb's world tour 2010/11

Ed and Deb's world tour 2010/11. Friday, 8 April 2011. Desert island and. goodbye :(. Having thoroughly enjoyed our time with the mission team in Phnom Penh, we left the busyness of the city on a 5 hour bus ride south to the Cambodian coast. It was a weird feeling, suddenly being on our own again, with no itinerary, and in a beach town. a stark contrast to the slums of Phnom Penh. It felt wrong somehow. the slums felt more like home. The beach on t'other side of the island, 20 minutes through the jungle.

Ed and Deb's world tour 2010/11: January 2011

http://eddebsworldtour.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Ed and Deb's world tour 2010/11. Saturday, 29 January 2011. Playing with 'fire' in Java. When I said Singapore/Malaysia on the last blog I meant Java! We happily crossed from Bali to Java by boat on the thankfully calm seas, me (Deb) now with my head covered in respect of the muslim ways (yes the sweat was dripping off! Exhausted, we got back to our hotel for some guess what - spicy noodles! And an afternoon in the pool looking out at Bali - as in the photo at the top of the misty mountains. As we turned...

Ed and Deb's world tour 2010/11: Mr and Mrs Saigon (apparently)

http://eddebsworldtour.blogspot.com/2011/04/mr-and-mrs-saigon-apparently.html

Ed and Deb's world tour 2010/11. Friday, 1 April 2011. Mr and Mrs Saigon (apparently). Having left the relative tranquility of Hoi An, we flew down to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) taking just over an hour which would otherwise have been a whole day's train journey. Surprisingly, there was even more noise than Hanoi! Honking, chaotic traffic was everywhere- there was even a footpath running down a central park area where you had to walk one direction on the left and back on the right! One final highlight was...

Ed and Deb's world tour 2010/11: February 2011

http://eddebsworldtour.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Ed and Deb's world tour 2010/11. Sunday, 27 February 2011. Leaving the tourist infested Koh Phi Phi, we headed by boat across calm blue seas to Krabi, basically a transport town. There are gorgeous beaches and limestone Karsts (big sticky up rocks) in and near Krabi, but we didn't have time to explore here, instead we hd a flight to catch to Bangkok. Bangkok was a bit of a non entity, hence no photos - although to be fair we didn't go out of our way to explore very far. We had a lovely day learning to co...
